  1. He wasn’t the only story of the night, so continue reading for everything that happened on Saturday in the Twins minor league system. TRANSACTIONS There was just one transaction in the Twins system on Saturday: · To make room for AJ Achter in Rochester, Adrian Salcedo was sent back to Chattanooga. RED WINGS REPORT Rochester 5, Scranton/Wilkes Barre 11 Box Score Michael Bowden had an opt-out date on Saturday. He was also scheduled to start. Darren Wolfson tweeted earlier in the day that it sounds like he will not opt-out. On this night, he gave up seven runs (five earned) on eight hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out six. Cole Johnson came on. He was charged with one run on three hits in 1.1 innings, though he allowed two inherited runners to score as well. Tim Shibuya gave up three runs on three hits in his inning of work. Eric Fryer led the offense. He went 3-4 with his first triple. Xavier Avery went 2-3 with a walk and his third triple. Danny Santana went 2-4 with his eighth double. Danny Ortiz was also 2-4. Oswaldo Arcia came into the game without a hit in his previous 24 at-bats. According to a tweet from Brandon Warne, he was 4-64. He went 0-3 in his first three at-bats on this night, but in the ninth, he hit his 11th Red Wings home run off former All-Star Andrew Bailey. Hopefully it can jump-start something, anything. CHATTANOOGA CHATTER Chattanooga 6, Pensacola 10 Box Score Jason Wheeler made the start for the Lookouts. The southpaw went the first 5.1 innings. He gave up five runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out five. He was really hurt by the long ball. He was “taken yard” three times. Alex Wimmers came on and got the next five outs and he was charged with two runs on three hits. DJ Johnson pitched an inning and gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk. The offense put up some runs, but it just wasn’t enough. Stephen Wickens remained hot. He went 2-5 with his 14th double. Travis Harrison went 2-4 with his fourth triple. Stuart Turner went 1-1 and walked three times. Max Kepler was 1-4 with a walk and his 32nd double. Jorge Polanco, who played shortstop for the second straight game, walked twice and stole his 17th base. MIRACLE MATTERS Ft. Myers 0, Bradenton 5 Box Score Mat Batts wasn’t his normal self in this start. He gave up four runs on seven hits in just five innings. He walked one and struck out three. Todd Van Steensel came on and gave up one run on one hit in two innings. He struck out two. Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one. 3. What a win for the Twins in comeback, walk-off fashion. The story in the minor leagues was the complete game shutout of Sam Gibbons. Very impressive. Also of note, Tyler Duffey leaving the game after just two innings. There may be more to come. All that and more can be found as you work your way through today’s minor league report. First, a little injury update. I ran into Trey Vavra at Target Field tonight. He was in a walking boot. He said that he met with Twins doctors a while ago and then had surgery. He'll be in the boot for another three weeks before heading off to Florida to begin rehab. He was clearly disappointed but remains very positive. Looking forward to just being able to play. However, his 2015 season, at least the minor league season, is done. RED WINGS REPORT Rochester 4, Syracuse 10 Box Score The Red Wings scored some runs, but unfortunately, this one got out of hand early. Not too early though. Tyler Duffey started. He gave up one run on three hits and a walk in two innings. He struck out five. However, it is intriguing that he left the game after just two innings and 36 pitches. I’m sure we’ll learn more soon. The Twins did not announce anything following their win. In Rochester, manager Mike Quade was "cryptic" to Rochester Democrat and Chronicle beat writer Kevin Oklobzija following the game. Speculation remains that he could be joining the Twins, but there has been nothing to confirm that at this time. Logan Darnell came on to replace Duffey. He gave up six runs on eight hits over three innings. Alex Meyer threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, but he left after loading the bases to start his third inning, the eighth. He thought he had a strikeout then and argued with the ump. Manager Mike Quade stood up for his pitcher and was ejected. Cole Johnson came on. He gave up two hits in that inning, allowing Meyer's three runners to score, but gave up no runs of his own over the final two innings. He struck out two. James Beresford went 3-4. Reynado Rodriguez went 2-4 with his 26th double. Xavier Avery was 1-17 in his first four games with the Red Wings. He was moved from the leadoff spot to sixth in the order. .He went 3-4.
