  1. I learned a long time ago that if you want respect you have to earn it. The government or no one can give it to you. If it’s given to you won’t respect it. What happened to Mr. Floyd was terrible. What is happening to cities and people’s lives is bad. Please Don’t lecture me or others on this site that we should bow to the owners view. I support the police. Blue lives do matter. If that offends you, to bad. Won’t be first or last time I offended someone.
  2. Some of the Twins greatest pitchers of all time on this list. Pitchers that pitched every 4 days, had to be in the game or be pulled for a pinch hitter. Pitched several complete games every year. Great time to watch and listen to the Twins. I'm just glad they didn't have "Numbers for Nerds" or social media to ruin this decade. Baseball played by great guys without big contracts, more for the love of the game. Great list Seth
  3. Watching and listening to these players was great. It's to bad that Tony O never had the medical advancements of today. He was the most complete player of the decade. He could hit, hit for power and field. Teams feared him more than Harmon. The other player that could have been better was Jimmie Hall. He was never the same after he got beaned. The racial tension on this team during the decade also effected them as a team. This will always be my greatest decade to watch Twins baseball.
  4. First should Johan been on the ballot more than one year yes. Was he a HOF player based on his 4-5 good years No. I watched Koufax carve up the one of the best Twins teams. He gave up 2 runs in 3 games, 1 earned. He won 25 games 3 times, 137 complete games, 40 shutouts. For you younger people a complete game is when a pitcher pitches the whole 9 innings. I wonder how good Koufax could have been if he knew he only had to pitch 7 innings like Santana did most of the time. Koufax also had to pitch against every team in the NL 18 times and teams like Giants and others had killer lineups. Santana had the benefit of pitching in the AL central against AAAA team on most years. Don't get me wrong I really like Johan Santana but he is not in the same class as Koufax, and Koufax broke my heart in 1965 WS. Koufax is not over rated I watched him pitch and he was a Stud.
  5. We continue to believe on this site, that all the "Pie in the Sky" players in the minors are going to be able to replace Rosario. He may have had a down year defensively playing hurt. But I'll role with Eddie in left for a few more years. Byron Buxton is a great fielder but never plays much. I don't see any articles on releasing him? If the Twins can sign Rosario for 8-10 million a year for next 4 years he is worth it. He hits and he is the straw that stirs the drink on this team. People get excited when Eddie is at the plate because he is exciting to watch. All these guys in the minors are worth more in a trade than Rosario will ever be at this point. Trade them before they are exposed.
  6. "Hoskuld" aka Josh Donaldson should have his theme song "If I had a Heart" the theme song of the Vikings series. It is my hope he will lead us to the baseball version of Valhalla. Donaldson should be the tough Viking warrior of the Twins.
  7. Good article about the kind of player the Twins need to deal for. Young player with potential.
  8. Biggest weakness: NY Yankee's eat them for lunch! Figure out how to focus and beat good teams from the East. You can win the division, and then get swept by NY and it was all for nothing. Keep building a team for October baseball. They have a lot of work to do.
  9. I agree 5-5 against the Astro's, Yankee's, and Blue Jays is good, but you got to beat the teams in the East to get respect and start to change the culture if you want to take the next step. Cleveland still has the best Starters in AL and Lindor is back. You can't continue to win with only hitting HR. You got to manufacture runs when conditions dictate it. Good teams can do both, besides scoring 5 runs without hitting a HR, puts more pressure on the pitcher and defense. You have to be able to do both. I haven't seen a lot of " Small Ball". I like the winning, but sometimes you got to play the game smart late in the game. That is my point.
  10. Get Back in the Car Kids! Until the Twins beat the Yankees they are average. Then there is Boston, Toronto, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland. It's April, stay in the car and enjoy the ride, but I wouldn't schedule vacation for October yet unless you like to duck hunt. When the Twins start showing they can score runs without HR, it will be a good sign. Chris Russo said the other day, Hey can the Yankees keep it going and then he looked at the schedule and said the Twins are coming to town! I agree last night was good baseball, but I want to see more against good teams. Beat the Yankee's next week!
  11. Trading Kepler at this point will not net a big return unless you want to wait years for that return. That being said, the twins hitting coaches should have been replaced this off season. Kepler and several other players regressed. Buxton needs to prove himself before you move his backup. Cave is not good in Center, he has problems with low line drive balls, they eat him up. Cave may be an option for lefthanded 1st baseman. The Twins are not going to win the Central without Pitching. Seattle wants to unload salary. How about Gordon for Gordon.
  12. Analytical Hijacking!!! Strikeouts, a few HR's, launch angle, exit speed, shifts, openers, more strikeouts. James Rowson got that strikeout thing down real good, really they kept him. Hefner scouts from video's really, he doesn't watch the game in person. Why do the Falvine whiz kids, remind me of the GM from "Trouble with the Curve". Who is the Baseball Guy in the room.
  13. I personally think Gonsalves is the most over rated player on this site. Watching him at the end of the season, I saw a soft tossing Lefty that had no control. He will need to develop control and vary the speed of his pitches to make it at the Major league level. If he starts getting the ball over the plate, he may be able to be effective in the weak Central division for now. He may be able to develop into a 4 or 5 starter with time but, I think Khol Stewart is better suited to make it in the majors. Gonsalves is a trade candidate before he is exposed more, it may already be to late. I would rate him in the 30's, I know that's may be cruel but he needs to prove to me he is more than a AAAA player.
