  1. After looking at next years FA class it is basically a bunch of great position players and Kershaw. I thought there was a couple more "aces" but I stand corrected.
  2. So if the Twins manage to sign Cobb or Lynn and then get a big fish in FA next year, will the FO still be considered pretenders? If they don't feel right about a 6 year deal with Darvish I don't blame them. We will just have to wait and see..
  3. I don't think Garver gets the call until Gimenez is traded this month and I don't know if they even trade him if we are still in the race.
  4. After taking a closer look at Straily I see he is outperforming his peripherals and has basically his whole career, but he would be an upgrade in our rotation as it currently sits IMO. Ramos has been pretty solid the last few years, very good K/9, but has struggled this year. What would your offer be?
  5. I would go after Straily and Ramos from Miami. Straily is controllable through 2020 I believe and having a good year and Ramos through next year? Not sure on that. This fills two holes and neither are rentals. I would package either Gordon or Polanco with Jorge, Granite, and maybe Stewart/Jay. Does that get it done? More? Less?
  6. I think he would cost a lot more than that. I've read the Sox are asking for guys like Martes and Tucker from the Astros or Torres and Frazier from the Yankees as just the starting points..
  7. They should target Madson and Doolittle. This would add 2 more proven closers although I think I'd make Madson the closer with Doolittle and Kintzler as the setup guys. Would a package of Polanco, Palka, Ynoa, and maybe someone like Graterol be enough? I know Madson is controlled through next year and Doolittle has some options coming up I believe
  8. I realize this guy's numbers are terrible and he probably won't be any good. But, he wasn't exactly handed any favors for his start last weekend as far as being rested. "Wilk’s outing came under sub-optimal circumstances, to say the last, as Fred Kerber of the New York Post detailed. The lefty flew from Las Vegas to Albuquerque (with a stop in Denver) last Saturday, only to learn he was needed in the Majors, at which point he flew to Los Angeles and took a midnight flight to New York to start against the Marlins at 1pm."
  9. I was going to say his swing looks pretty long in the zone, so those inside pitches are still giving him trouble and probably always will
  10. Mike, have you not been watching the games? Serious question, I know you live in the NW but I was just wondering. They have not been throwing Buck a whole lot of strikes but I will say that he is laying off A LOT more junk than he was the first few weeks. Especially the soft/breaking stuff down and away.
