  1. 92 mph changeup thats all that needs to be said, so sweet we finally got someone of this potential
  2. Romero is such a stud compared to what we just saw in tampa. I cant wait to see him pitching for us in the very near future
  3. I have been a Berrios fan since the day we drafted him, no joke. I always look at draft prospects for football and baseball and I knew that this guy was gonna be someone because his makeup. The "doubters" all throughout his career even before was drafted was this guy wont hold up, he is to small blah blah blah. Well when you have a top flight mlb curve as scouting reports stated and a electric fastball with the chance of a outstanding change that was enough for me to follow him from the minute he signed. He is not a #2-3 starter he will be better than the highly coveted Chris Archer that everyone and there mother wanted us to get except me. Now its just matter of time before we get to see his friend Fernando Romero take the place of Kyle Gibson thats what I cant wait for is to watch these 2 play together its gonna be like those few games we seen Johan Santana and liriano pitch that was like a video game and these 2 could be better thats scary.
  4. 95-67 Division crown Offensive player: Miguel Sano Most home runs: Logan Morrison Starting pitcher: Jose Berrios Relief Pitcher: Addison Reed Twins rookie: Fernando Romero I went outside the box on a few I think Sano is a better overall hitter than Dozier. Logan is just gonna squeak out Sano on home runs. Berrios could be on the verge of special. Reed is proven to be a stud. And the best for last Romero has the chance to be that "It" factor he has Ace written all over him and I have loved Berrios since the day we drafted him but Romero is in different stratosphere and I can't wait till Gibson does what Gibson does so this future all star gets up here where he really belongs.
  5. Wow there is some serious negativity going on. When in our life time has the twins went out and actually signed a hand full of players that were actually good? Never!!! Look at 91 Jack Morris was old enough to be my Dad, umm 87 we traded for Steve Carlton and Don Baylor which were old enough to be my grandpa. You get my point here,,, we actually signed real players that can actually make our team better if they stay healthy. Lo Mo could be a great addition to a lineup that has very few weakness. That is awesome. Our opening day starter we got for free you might as well say. Addison Reed is a bona fide reliever without a doubt. Rodney can still strike people out and do better than Matt belisle let's just be real. Lance Lynn is without a question better than pipe dream be good Kyle Gibson. Yeah we're thin at ss but most teams there isn't 30 great ss. Yes we built this team to compete because Pohlad wants to win too. I don't look at it as a negative that most guys are on 1 year deals. I think it's a positive because this isn't like football where you can dump the guy next year cuz he stinks we get stuck with them for years i.e. Phil Hughes... I actually think it's smart because who's to say we can't go next year and play with the big boys we owe nobody next year that's awesome in my mind and it's actually intelligent. Yes did we build to win this year sure we did but what's wrong with that? So you might actually want to go to a game that's not just twins vs Yankees or red Sox. Might actually go to a game that's twins vs tigers because it will be fun to watch our lineup and our pitching instead of not going or not watching on tv.
  6. Like every year we always have a "prospect" that should be on the team and they wait till June to bring him up. I get that the numbers are crunched but you can't tell me that he can't be possibly and im saying possibly better than Kyle Gibson, Phil Hughes, Tyler Duffy. This kid has some nasty stuff. I get that they want to protect him but come on sometimes you really should go with your gut that he could be a difference maker. I can't wait to see him in June making a start because we all know Kyle Gibson is gonna be his normal self 5+ era.
  7. Also this signing I believe shows they don't trust Kyle Gibson by any means which in reality I don't either.
  8. Well worth the 3rd round draft pick. Like I have been stating these guys make smart moves, we don't go trade the farm for Chris Archer thanks. We got him cheaper than Santana and Hughes that is because falvey doesn't play. Imagine if Terry Ryan ever did something like that haha yeah right he signed nolasco, Hughes and Santana 1 panned out sort of. Let alone we signed Morrison, plus the bullpen. I cant believe im goimg to say this but Maybe it's time we stop blaming Jim pohlad and actually put the blame on Terry Ryan clearly he never believed in free agents. Why I say this is because look Pohlad trusts his people in management positions as you should as a corporation!!! He trusted Terry Ryan just as he trusts Derek falvey. He said ok you want to spend go ahead. I really am starting to believe Terry Ryan could of spent but chose not to which is why he sits and scouts minor leagues. Enjoy while we go to the wild card again and actually have a shot at winning a game. Thanks Jim pohlad for understanding it was time to fix the bad dream.
  9. You consider Archer front line yes here he would be just like there. Sano isn't going anyplace if he can stay healthy which he tried to play at the end of year which should say alot about him not this he's huge. Really no kidding like we haven't known this forever. The guy could hit 40+ 130 rbi and hit .275. Let's look at Archer 3.67 career era his last 2 years it's been 4 era. That is not a ace by any means. We had a ace that won 2 cy youngs led MLB in era and k's that's a ace just because his contract is 4 years means very little to me honestly. Darvish is better than Archer but he isn't worth what he got which is why he isn't here. We have never went after a real player. We did this year. It didn't work out doesn't mean I give up Sano for a #2 at best. Tampa doesn't want to trade him don't blame them. They will come to earth either in July or next year or maybe 2 years. If Sano does what he can do we will resign him watch this is so different now were just so used to saying goodbye to our guys that s not how we operate anymore thankfully.
  10. Beckmt luckily your not our gm trade Sano? Not unless were getting strasburg which isn't happening. I like this regime they make smart moves, not all will work but I like the way this is going. Remember years ago when we could of had Alfonso sorriano for Scott baker but Terry Ryan said no thanks!!! It's funny how he leaves and the truth starts to come out about how Jim pohlad actually wants good players not scrap heap that were used to. We could of had Darvish but I wouldn't pay him what he got either. To many variables. We actually have a bullpen now that's not a bunch of 6+ era guys, we have a rotation that's not special but definently not awful either. I like how the smoke screen played out about lance Lynn. Let's all forget about him cuz truthfully he's nothing special. A guy that has never pitched for American league team so really looking at a 4.5 era with us don't we have that already like with Gibson. We dont just go out and sign players to sign them we are signing players for once that can change the outcome of a game. Who would of thought yesterday were getting a guy that hits 35+ home runs against the East? He's going to do some serious damage to Detroit, Chicago, and KC! I am a true lifelong fan of the twins not a "rube" we know we don't have a true ace but that's ok. What we did today was so unbelievably intelligent we can score runs already so what did we do we just made our line up even better. These guys know what there doing don't waste money on some mediocre starting pitcher just because we need pitching that's not how to succeed. These boys are building a contender and at the end of the day this is a great example of that. We finally don't have to count on the Grossmans or the Vargas to maybe be good when they won't ever be. This is a great day twins fans!!! I like this move so much better than lance Lynn yuck all we have is 90 mph sinker ball pitchers I will pass and take this beast to go with Dozier, Sano, Keppler, Rosario, Buxton, that's scary. Finally we have a bullpen so no more letting our starter go out for "that extra inning" when 9 times out of 10 gets shelled as we sit watching at home yelling to the tv why is he still out on the mound. Another great move this off-season. We have never played with the big boys, well times have changed finally.
  11. Terry Ryan did no favors by stepping down for bill smith right before we couldn't keep santana and etc. He should be to blame for that not bill smith that's crap. He tried to get what he could and go figure all these guys come here and leave and are great hmm that's what's truly wrong. Carlos Gomez, jj hardy, ra dickey, Matt Garza, Wilson Ramos, Alex Meyer is the latest big joke
  12. Did someone say we can hang in till the playoffs that has got to be a joke? First off we need at least 4 new starting pitchers. Santana is serviceable. May needs to start so we can have someone that throws harder than 88 and a sinker. 2nd off Dozier is worth more than DeLeon that's garbage how much more I don't know he is a career .250 hitter that's not eye popping. He has good defense and can hit it out. But I agree that if that's all there offering no way! We need at least 2 players for him but let's use our scouting skills and pluck someone from A ball that has a pulse at least.
  13. Well I will say this much as he was a great singles hitter for so many years but his .260 avg don't you think it actually hurts his hall of fame chances? Before 1st base he was a hall of famer he hit .330 now he can't nor do I think he is gonna get better than .260 but Molitor is actually thinking about sitting him so if he only plays 3 days a week he might hit .300 again that's his only chance otherwise were really looking at maybe .250
