  1. It's really a shame to those naysayers who criticize Meyer's time with the Twins. I would agree with the those who have said "he wasn't given a chance" - he wasn't. The time he sat between Rochester & Houston was enough to mess with anyone's head. You get stale. You get rusty. This kid has the right stuff to be an ace, for his sake, I hope he has success in California and the Twins maybe will realize how they jerked around a top prospect. We hate seeing him gone from Rochester and supported him more here than the guys did in Minnesota. Good luck to you Alex, your team and friends in Rochester hate seeing you go but wish you the best.
  2. I was wondering the same thing. The poor guy, just waiting and waiting and WAITING! What will end up happening now that Meyer hasn't pitched in over a week, when and IF they do bring him in, I hope he is successful, but my fear is that IF he does come in and struggles, the forums will blow up and talk about how bad he was and right away say he needs to go back to AAA (where he probably should have stayed as he would have thrown by now) and run him through the ringer. IF he does 'struggle', I don't think I'd blame him. You've got to keep these guys on a schedule, keep them throwing. All of these days off just mess with their heads AND their throwing. I am really confused on this one...
  3. Great comment..I definitely agree. If the FO knew that Berrios was going to start tonight, why didn't they just call him up on Monday instead of Meyer? Meyer could have stayed in Rochester and AT LEAST stayed on his pitching schedule. It has now been a week since he last threw. What a way to mess with a guys head! I hope that when (and if) Meyer does get to throw, that he is successful since it's been so long.
  4. I absolutely agree! I think they ARE messing with these guys heads. Why call up Meyer - 3 days ago - and then let his sit and 'rot' in the bullpen. They've taken him off of his rotation schedule and now he has just sat. Definitely thought since he arrived in Minnesota early Monday that he would have at least had a chance to go in. Thought we would have see him definitely last night but when that failed to happen...I am really wondering what is going on with the way the Twins are thinking. Glad for Berrios, but if they knew they were going to start him tonight, why didn't they send him up right away and let Meyer stay in Rochester where he would have pitched Monday night to stay on rotation?? Now it has been a week since he's thrown any innings! I do hope that when (or if) he does go in, he is successful.
