  1. I don't doubt Falvey and Levine's credentials, they seem sharp and they've seen what it takes and been involved at successful organizations. My issue is this: if every team uses analytics, what is the advantage of being a team that uses analytics? How does it move you beyond league-average? There has to be something else that puts you over the top. Either a massive surge in talent or a massive improvement in "intangibles".
  2. The fact that for a period of time Buxton and Sano were the #1 and #3 prospects in all of baseball, and that now #1 just can't hit Big League pitching and #3 just can't figure out how to be a pro is about the most maddening and unbelievable turn of events in what has been a long and mostly frustrating career as a Twins fan.
  3. The Twins are next-to-last in baseball with a team ERA of 5.26. The pitching has been a disaster, much as it has been since 2010, which was the last season where the Twins had an ERA better than the league average. Until we see real improvement throughout the starting rotation and bullpen, we will continue to suck.
  4. A four-game trip to Yankee Stadium after a sweep in Tampa. Not what the doctor ordered. Seriously, the snow outs earlier this month kind of derailed some of the early season promise.
  5. In 2004, John Kruk was adamant that Curt Schilling should win the AL Cy Young because he won 21 games to Santana's 20. "It's all about winning." I was quite pleased to see him let down.
  6. I don't understand why it's so hard to get these guys out. They're not all superstars or something.
  7. Sure, but can't we at least be able to attack Santana? He was a real letdown tonight.
  8. Castro botched the low strike. His mitt dropped into the dirt with it. That was a K with a good frame.
  9. Why can't the White Sox just roll over and die like the irrelevant and forgotten team that they are.
