Raven's Achievements

  1. Easy one - Ron Davis. I think at one point he was tied for most blown saves in a season. Opposing teams must have loved him. In 1984 he managed to lose games in creative ways too. I remember one game when a thunderstorm partially deflated the Dome. The Twins were sailing along with a huge lead. Davis was either already pitching before the interruption or came in after the Dome re-inflated. Doesn't matter. After the game continued he managed to totally blow the huge lead we had and the Twins lost. What matters more - Davis was my 8 year old daughter's favorite player. She stoically watched him until he gave up enough runs for the Twins to lose the lead. Then she cried. And he became my least liked player forever.
  2. Dick Bremer quote of the game........."Trevor May - part of a very reliable Twins bullpen". I really want whatever Dick's smokin'
  3. Fien is trending himself towards AAA, where he belonged anyway after his spring training non-performance.
  4. I'd love to see the Morneau of year's past doing it again for the Twins. However, that's just it - those years are in the past. To me the stats and everything else don't matter. The odds that he'd be able to be available for a full season are just about zero. The ongoing concussion and other injury issues should rightly push him into retirement. I can't see anyone taking the risk and picking him up.
  5. Good thoughts and info on Paul and Doug. If these were the only 2 options I'd have to agree and go with Doug. However, I think these recent years have shown that there's nothing necessarily positive about bringing someone up from within the organization. A new boss from elsewhere is needed to shake things up. The status quo sure hasn't worked.
