Hambino the Great's Achievements

  1. The twins would be 0-9 to start the season Mauer and Escobar would be leading the team in hits. Nunez would have the best batting average on the team. Mauer would have more homeruns than Sano at this point. Starting pitching would be one of the strengths of this team. Sure in the hell was not me. I was fairly optimistic of the Twins chances this year to compete this year building off of the success they had last year. I am one that usually makes it to about 5-7 games a year as I live 3 hours away. I usually buy my tickets the day they go on sale, this year I did not. That is one of the few positive things to happen this season so far. I will take my son to one game as I am not monster and feel every kid should make to at least one MLB game a summer at minimum. I have taught my son to never boo your home team. That lesson is very difficult this season and at this rate it won't be long and my son will be calling my a hypocrite.
  2. Well after today we will be a third of the way to tying the 88 O's for most consecutive losses to start a season. I don't know about you all but I believe we just may have the talent to surpass them. Fingers crossed.
  3. Hambino "the Great" was good enough for your mother.
  4. Joe Mauer retires via twitter today and the Twins sign Justin Morneau to a 3 year deal for 20million
  5. I know right??? I must attend all of those Lenten fish frys as I am a good Catholic. So I have no choice at least that is what I tell the wife.
  6. It was this year that he hired a nutritionist and I am also hoping for some more double plays this year. Dozier said he used to think fried catfish was healthy because it was fish.
  7. Has any one else been to these winter caravans? If so what was your take on the event. I brought my son to the Twins caravan last night in Marshall MN that hosted Brian Dozier, Eduardo Escobar and Dan Gladden. I found the question and answer session pretty humorous as it was mostly lighthearted and conversational. The one question that stood out was some kid asking Brian if Pete Rose deserved to be in the hall of fame, he looked around and asked if this was being recorded and someone told him it was. He then softly said "no" and that was the end of that. I tried to get my son to ask Brian if he worked on anything this offseason to avoid the second slump he had last year. My son of course would not ask this but it was revealed that Brian did hire a nutritionist to maintain his energy levels as the season wore on to avoid the downs that he had during the last half of the season last year.
  8. My son who is 10 years old was very sad after hearing that Tori was retiring. He said" We are going to suck now." I had to explain to him how this was a good thing and it was time to embrace the youth movement in the outfield. This thought of two things when he said that. The first thing was boy kids are idiots and the second thing was Tori's positive attitude was contagious. Well now that I think about it I am sure the reason my son liked Tori so much was that he threw the third out into the RF and that ball just happened to make it ways to my sons glove. Maybe he loan some personality to Joe?
