  1. As far as watching the games I'm beginning to lose interest. I enjoy watching my team hit and score runs. The pitching and defense is there but the offense only shows up on occasion. I don't want to be pleasantly surprised when my team wins. I want to be a little surprised when they lose. If the Twins aren't winning after a few innings I know I'm in for 5 or 6 innings of misery at the plate.
  2. Yeah. things don't go well when the offense doesn't show up. Who woulda thought it.
  3. Sure I saw the "offense" this week and every other week they have played. In fact I've watched all but a few games this summer. I've seen them kick butt more than once. Frankly I wouldn't bet on either team this weekend. With it being the middle of June I'm optimistic. However if the date was Sept 14 I'd say don't bet on the Twins. 6 games out with 14 games left to play is a lot different than 6 games out with 100 games left to play. That fine line doesn't exist at this point.
  4. Wait a minute. It's not even quite half way through June. They are only 6 games back. If they sweep Cleveland in the next few games they will only be down by 3 games. The All Star break is in about a month. If things go well they could be a handful of games up and in first place. I think Molitor has done fine with what he has. The players are the guys that have to preform well. If they don't play well no matter what Molitor does will improve their record. Sano is still a young guy. There is plenty of time for him to be an All Star again. A little time in the minors will probably do him some good. It might be a confidence builder. He didn't come off his leg injury very well and it might have messed with his confidence
  5. It would be nice to see a little more about the Saints. I know very little about them.
  6. Good grief!! It's June 7 and everybody seems to think the Twins are done for this year. There is a lot of games left to play. It's not like they are going to win every game. Nobody does.
  7. We have a pretty young team as it stands so I'd stick with HS grads as much as possible. Try to keep our players young and in their prime as much as we can.
  8. This is how I was expecting the Twins to look. The game tomorrow should be a fun watch.
  9. Joe Maurer has been a very good baseball player for our hometown team. Even after 4 or 5 years of playing after a concussion his BA is still over .300. He plays great defense. In other words he does exactly what a baseball player is supposed to do. And he does it better than most. He also gets paid more than most. People seem to forget that the Twins agreed to his contract. The other players have agents that get them as much as possible too. I don't understand why so many people complain. I hope he can play as long as he wants without medical problems.
  10. So this is about the pitchers. Without question they have all done very well. I hope they keep it up and the batters actually start scoring some runs. So does anybody know why Rodney wears his hat crooked? The bill of his cap points to his left.
  11. So I won't complain about the lack of Twins offense. Plenty of other people can do that. I will bring up a pet peeve of mine though. I get really sick and tired of people personalizing the anthem and "God Bless America" Those tunes are just fine the way they are written. I don't like the singer showing off his or her vocal range. That and the extra vibrato just drive me nuts. It really bothers me. I suppose if the Twins had an offense it wouldn't bother me so much because I would have something good to pay attention to.
  12. I would like it if some of our minor leagues teams were a bit closer to Minneapolis. It would be fun to take a day and drive to a minor league game in order to keep track of these guys as they move up in the system. There is very good amateur baseball in the Twin Cities and the Saints are a fun team but it would be fun to watch a few of the Twins' minor league teams. Years ago I thought the Rochester Red Wings were just a little south of us. Imagine my surprise when I tried to go to a Red Wings game when my wife was attending a fund raising conference in Rochester, MN. Thankfully there are a couple of good amateur teams there.
