  1. Seems to me the old administration spent a lot of effort trading ML players for pitching prospects that don't work. Too early to tell about this administration but their trade deadline waffling does not bode well. Clearing out the minor league staff in such a classless manner looks bad as well. I predict Moliter and his entire staff will be elseware in 2018.
  2. It's great the guys are doing well but it should be tempered with caution. In Rooker's case a good college hitter should hit rookie-low a pitching. Anybody with a plus-curve will have success in rookie-low a ball. As both pitchers and hitters get used to wooden bats which requires pitching inside. Those who can throw curves for strikes have a significant advantage. In low a ball pitchers are wild and the defense doesn't always catch the ball. Consequently individual stats are mostly meaningless as a predictor of Major League success.
  3. The jury is still out as to whether Lewis plus embold is a greater return than McKay or Kyle wright. Considering the organization has two international shortstops plus Gordon at that position perhaps one of the college pitchers could contribute faster. I'm not sure I go along with the philosophy of lowballing your top pick so you can overpay your third pick.
  4. Has anyone noticed the Twins awful pitching plan. Going back to the last four-game series against the Indians, this will mark seven games against the pre-season favorite without Santana or Berrios. Spotting the the top teams seven games is a hard way to win.
  5. Why do you let a guy like Chris Herrmann go. He hit two home runs yesterday and has 4 in 42 at bats. He can also play the outfield. And yes I know Palko is tearing up AAA. We have a bottomless hole at catcher. No one have ever said Stuart a Turner will eventually hit major league pitching but the guys we have now can't either.
  6. I was glad to see Ryan come back because Smith literally made me sick. I wonder about waiving a left-handed starter. Seems like you could have got something for him. I'm also a Redskin fan and I remember the second coming of Joe Gibbs. He wasn't able to adjust to the new NFL. He picked Mark Brunell over Drew Bree's. I wonder if Ryan is up to the task. I want to say it was '85 when herbek and the kids were given free reign. We lost 100 games but two years later won the World Series. I would also point out that the first step the Braves took before their decade of no east titles was to bring in guys who could catch the ball. That would be a big improvement to this team.
  7. Let's take a page from the Braves' book and have a fire sale for prospects. Now that Mauer is hitting again let's see what we can get. He makes too much to be a singles hitter at first base. Now that Gardy's back in the organization it's only a matter of time b4 he's back in the dugout.
  8. In the Rochester story it says bersford singled and went to second on a sac fly. I don't think you get a sac fly unless someone scores.
