FishingMN's Achievements

  1. With the poor spring by Kirilloff it gives the Twins the chance to stash him for a month to extend his service time. That might give Garlick and Rooker both a chance to make the roster and fight it out until Alex is called up in May (if they don't keep Astudillo).
  2. You should also consider other metrics like WAR where the normal standard is 60 for a career and Mauer is at 55.3. There are lots of players ahead of him in WAR that haven't gotten in. Then you consider the Twins lack of postseason success during Joe's career and I personally don't see him making it.
  3. Only issue seems to be where he's going to play given Kepler's status for many more years and other OF's we have in the pipeline. Seems like he could be a very valuable trade piece in a future SP deal.
  4. How many "ace's" are there? Either it's very rare to get one or the Twins do have one they've developed in Berrios You could easily say the exact same thing in reverse - "the Twins were more than happy to move" We traded our 3rd highest pick as we retain our regular 2nd round selection. On top of that, Luke Raley is no great prospect. He's already 25 and most had him ranked around our 20th best prospect who had many players ahead of him who were better. And it frees up a spot on the 40 man.
  5. Reality is that the Twins aren’t going to add more payroll at this time so all those calling for adding a proven pitcher aren’t being realistic. Best bet is at the trade deadline when they won’t be paying full annual cost of a players 2020 salary.
  6. The Berrios news (and the threat of him becoming a free agent at first opportunity) just makes this failure of an offseason that much worse. The window may be short.
  7. If revenue goes from $269M to $280M you have $11M more. If you add that to the $130M you could spend $141M to net the same $14M in profit. Not a huge difference but the math was off. I do agree that it's unlikely they spend over $140M even if the fans seem to want them to spend more. The reality is that if we strike out on the likes of Ryu/Bum/Donaldson we may even have a hard time getting anywhere near that.
  8. Just signed up and bought 4 for Sunday's game - cheaper than buying through the Twins with their fees. Thanks!
