People act like Boros has complete control over his clients. If his clients want an extension, it's his job to get one done for the most amount of money possible. It isn't like he has total control over them. It's his job to be an advocate for his clients much like a lawyer.

If AK is one of the best 25 players you start him opening day. I think he is. This season, more than most, every win is going to matter. Get your best on the field and start banking wins from the get go. People want to talk about Boros like he's some villain or something. He is just a great advocate for his clients. I'd want him to represent me if I was a talented player too. The current system is pretty broken and will be adjusted in the next CBA. Plus, Boros is getting up there in age too. He's been doing this sports agent thing since the 80s. The guy is pushing 70 now. Who knows how long he's going to keep up the hustle!

Maybe I just don't remember well enough but wasn't it basically ok to use steroids in baseball until GW Bush made it a statement during The State of The Union in like 2004. I hate that Bonds is the Homerun king. I loved Aaron and think the world of him. It is what it is though. MLB basically greenlighted using steroids and frankly, I can't blame the players for taking. It's easy to say from my couch I would never use but you toss in fat stacks of cash who really knows. If there was something I could take to increase my annual salary $20k would I? I'd like to think I wouldn't but to me, 20k is a ton of money. Ethical behavior is easy to analyze but hard to practice. We're currently in a situation where many pitchers are using substances to increase spin rates. Cole in NY has the largest contract in history because of it. Bauer is about to get a huge deal because of it. Putting something on the ball is basically ok as long as it's hidden well enough. Is doctoring a baseball worse that steroids or hitting a trash can? I think it's in the same conversation myself. Though many will say they want the pitchers to use it for the batters safety. If so, make it above board. Uff, that got long.

Uff da, is there a Padres daily or something? If they bring back Margo and do nothing else, imma go support a team willing to make moves while the window is open. The Twins have dropped and not improved while many other teams have gotten better. The White Sox are probably a better team in the central now. Maybe the manager will screw it up but who knows. Tampa, NY, Toronto are all better now in the AL as well. Some tweaks in Anaheim and they may pass the Twins too. Houston is about as good right now too as it stands. Cleveland can still pitch so they're a threat.

I am more likely to attend a game with Cruz in the lineup over Rooker or another player currently. I attend, during a normal season, 15-20 games. The Boomstick brings fans to the stands. This are looking good to currently where fans will be in attendance and I want to see more Cruz live! It makes sense on a fiscal level as well as a statistical level.

I don't think he had a good enough career myself. He was just brilliant and fun to watch but he falls somewhere between very good and HoF. There's nothing wrong with that type of career either. He was a special player for sure.
