  1. Balazovic was sent down today so there's the first cut.
  2. Probably will be later than usual due to the WBC.
  3. If they were to put someone on the 40 man they'd still have to make a decision on who to remove when he's healthy. No need to do it unless they need to put someone on the 26 man. So the first of many RP's would likely be the one then.
  4. Yes that is how it should go. I don't think other than maybe opening day a manager would go with most popular, and if I was a manager I would go with the best pitcher. Then you adjust the rotation around that. Definitely have seen it play out where some one gets puched back, for example, because they want a lefty in between 2 righties.
  5. Spring training games do not get blacked out.
  6. Likely they won't be city connect jerseys, as those are not coming until next year at the earliest. Also teams are limited to 4 jerseys a season now.
  7. Not Sinclair,Bally but a few more teams are looking at losing their coverage by the end of March. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Closing-Bell/2023/02/24/rsn-breaking-news.aspx
  8. $2M plus $250k in incentives. I see no issue with Solano signing. If ST ends up with him not making the team no harm.
  9. I wouldn't have said inept but more of babying the staff. 13, even at times they had 14 pitchers on the staff and still teams used position players. I do not dislike that teams would on occasion use one to pitch in a blowout. But when guys like Chris Gimenez and La Tortuga get 7-8 appearances in one season that's ridiculous. RP need to be able to pitch more than one inning in a game. They also need to be able to go back to back days if it's only one inning. Maybe not related but I miss the days of the LOOGY. They could go 3, 4, 5 days in a row. Not innings eaters, but the three batter rule is also dumb Manfraud ball.
  10. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35668388/rob-manfred-mlb-ready-diamond-sports-group-pay-teams Here is what Robby Manfraud said at the end about a potential disaster: "In the event that MLB stepped in, what we would is we would do produce the games. We would make use of our asset, the MLB Network, to do that. We would go directly to distributors -- meaning Comcast, Charter, the big distributors -- and make an agreement to have those games distributed on cable networks. My expectations is that as part of the negotiation, there would be a negotiation over price. And that probably gets back to the question about, you know, what the economics would look like, but we would also be seeking flexibility on the digital side."
  11. They also missed payments to 12 NHL teams. it's not just Bally. AT&T Nets made payments that were short to 3 MLB teams.
  12. Michael Lorenzen is another two way player, which was odd last year since technically the Angels had two of them. There are a handful of players trying to get that designation for the upcoming season. All are players who weren't great a position players so they're learning to pitch.
  13. I think it will be Ryan, just like last year.
  14. they were doing everything they could to avoid going over the luxury tax threshold.
  15. It was all about preventing Kenta from reaching the incentives on his contract.
  16. Garlick ain't making the team over Gordon.
  17. Bally did not take over the broadcasts. They are paying for the naming rights to the RSN's. Sinclair owns the RSN's and that is where the issue lies.
  18. Clearly the demand is driving a tough market, as KC asked for Winder in a Michael Taylor deal. IMO Winder would be a very high price to pay for a 4th OF.
  19. I'd hit Buxton leadoff. Get him as many AB's as possible. If Gallo gets in a groove he's solid in the middle of the lineup.
  20. Gallo will start in LF most of the time, especially against RHP. Gordon can play CF when needed.
  21. Technically no you don't have a seat. But when I've gone SRO in the past I've waited for an usher to go down the section between innings and went down a few rows and in the middle of the section. Also there are plenty of spaces around the concourse with no vendors. A lot of those spaces also have rails so you can set your drink/food down and eat there.
