  1. there is absolutely no evidence that the Twins can draft anyone and turn him into a major league ballplayer - either the ballplayer does it on his own or he leaves the Twins and finds success with some other organization. Why be excited about the #1 pick (or #2, etc.) if you don't have the club management that can help your draft picks develop and thrive?
  2. Seth - didn't make sense then or now. Who fed you the line about the Dome killing his knees? Tom Kelly? Certainly wasn't an original thought on your part.
  3. 48 strikeouts and 3 walks in 40 innings vs 27 and 9 in 41? Good month Brett! Great month Jose! Did TR help make this choice?
  4. Same old Same old with Milone and Pelfry. 5.00+ ERA's - struggle to get through 4 innings. Much better off to bring in May and let him learn how to be a MLB pitcher in the AL rather than Rochester. So what if he has a 7.00 ERA? This season is a lost-cause. All decisions should be about 2016. Santana in Center? Ridiculous unless you intend for him to spend his career there. Hell, let Hicks play there and hit .180 - immaterial. Never should have brought in Hunter. What a waste. He's standing like a statue in right field preventing the future. Could care less if Hunter has a 100 RBI's. it was a waste of $10 million. Hopefully, this time next year, we are not talking about Pelfry, Milone, Hunter and Hicks in Twins uniforms. Or if we are, it is because they proved they belonged in MLB in 2015.
  5. A platoon plan for CF may not be ideal, but we are waiting for Buxton - Hicks, Schaefer, et al are not the answer long term but there is no reason a CF platoon can't work in 2015. Or in RF or LF for that matter - get Rosario up here and let him play! Casey Stengel (Yankees) and Gil Hodges won World Series' by platooning players. If Hicks can figure it out from both sides of the plate, great. If not, platoon! Don't know why this is a dirty word.
  6. OK, how about this pitching metric - guys that throw 95+ and can get the ball close to the strike zone are better than 85-mph slop-ball pitchers - which the Twins always seem to be able to find and keep while the hard throwers get sent to Rochester to work on a change-up, slider, whatever.
