  1. So 88 in 12, 89 in 13 pre concussion isn't concerning for a singles hitter? I'm hopeful now with number 4 managing and not having a babysitter any longer he will make the necessary adjustments. It will be curious if he struggles to how long he stays batting 3. OPS means nothing batting 3rd, its about production.
  2. Its almost time to crank it up, thanks Seth for your thoughts. So much emphasis on metrics these days, I get it but metrics is also subjective. At the end of the day can this kid hit? Strike out rate is higher, ok but 35 HR 30 doubles 5 trips and 103 RBI's the kid can hit, period. Will he make adjustments? his stats shown he has and will. If were talking about concerns to SO rate, take a peek at number 7's rate, that's concerning.
  3. Parker nice read. It's nice to read someone's thoughts who has "played" the game, understands the game. Number 34 adjusted and took a hack, did he swing widely at times, sure, but he had a very eye at the plate and hit his pitch for power. Hitting for power is all about how the legs and hips coil, something he learned and was fun to watch. For those that put PED's into the conversation, would you say that about number 7 in 09 as well? Number 7 until this point has refused to change his approach and for only reason's he knows cant pull the ball. Nice read Parker
  4. While I enjoyed the read, "regression" is more of a adjective or label placed I would put on everyday players. Everyone loves to get caught up the numbers now days, metrics this metrics that, but you still have to throw a round ball and hit it with a round bat. Mechanics are as number 45 has shown extremely important, just check out video of Vance Worley since he left. 2 video's you posted though Parker are 2 different pitches. 1st vid you can see he overthrew it, trying to bust inside and became out-front, out of balance. 2nd vid very controlled, cutter that froze hitter, excellent pitch. Number 45 gained a lot of the biggest factor for pitchers and that's confidence and his stats show this. Will he regress to bad mechanics? I'm on the side he wont and will live up to extension.
