  1. Let's just say that John McKay would be in favor of his execution recently (if you know the quote, you'll know the context) Yes, he's the closer. The Twins have 2 of them and I just feel like the one that has an overpowering fastball that mowed down the lineup in 10 pitches the previous inning should have been able to keep his groove going into the 9th.
  2. So a real-time comment about the game is too sensitive?
  3. Nice dinner scheduling out of me to have chicken on the menu for tonite. 2 straight shutouts? What kind of world are we living in?
  4. If this was The Weakest Link, I'd be screaming 'BANK' after Pagan got those 2 outs to end the inning. That may be all he's good for.
  5. I wonder how through all that Kepler didn't end up on 2nd base...
  6. Celestino's mad dash. Pretty lax effort out of Rooker in left as well. And that's why he's a former Twin (among other things).
  7. Rodriguez in Seattle has all the pub so Miranda is gonna have to continue tearing things up and the Twins will need to make the playoffs for him to get the right push. Miranda winning rookie of the month once is a good start.
  8. To answer @PDX Twin's question in the intro, I chose the Twins because I was a Puckett fan. I grew up in central PA and was deluged by Phillies, some Pirates, and a little Orioles and Yankees. At the time (probably '85 or '86), I'd see the Twins only when they played the Yanks or O's and the very rare time they'd show up on NBC. I took a liking to Puck and company and then 1987 happens and that cemented my fandom. Same thing occurred with my NFL fandom -- fan of a player and then the team won the Super Bowl soon after and that's where I stayed.
  9. Wow, imagine that...someone wanting one of the best players on the team to give up their roster spot due to injury. Haven't we dealt with that enough this season? I'd much rather have him in the lineup just about anywhere than not. What's happened to this team in the past when he's gone on extended injury stays? He's just gotta get through these last 2 months and then hopefully the day after the season ends, doctors can get in there and clean out whatever it is so he's 100% by spring training.
  10. That will go down as a hit?? Is the official scorer trying to finish off a sentence that involved charity work?
  11. Thielbar's just saved the family dog from the burning building.
  12. Well done, Sonny boy. Let's hope the leaky pen plugs the holes.
  13. "Starting to get loose"? One would think that the manager that hates starters to get to the 3rd time in the order would have a reliever up in the 7th and ready just in case this exact situation comes around. I'd give Gray one more baserunner.
  14. Let's hope someone ties up Rocco in the corner of the dugout so Gray can go out there for the 6th.
  15. It was actually a great setup. See if he chases it once, twice, even 3 times and then when the next one comes in looking the same, he won't swing because he thinks it's going to tail only to see it split the outside edge.
  16. A lot of window shopping out of the Royals in that inning but yeah, Gray is already at a lot of pitches. So he'll have a no-hitter thru 4 and get pulled.
  17. *peers in cautiously and takes a seat after a long time away*
