I'd rather see Milone, Pelfrey or even Stauffer earn a spot on the rotation. If they are close to as good or better then May and Meyer. I'd be fine with May and/or Meyer in AAA or out of the bullpen to start the season.
1) They all should get a look... as well as... the twins will need to keep an eye on if Santana can stick at SS. If not and the other outfielders aren't stepping up... His speed and bat should play in the outfield... just maybe not center. But, They all should get a look... and the player that is hottest gets to start. With Schafer as the 4th due to his lack of options. But, if Hick at all hesitates... I hope they send him to start the year at AAA and basically go with option #2. 2) Hicks will start the year at CF and hopefully there will be no reason to regret it this time.
I hope he wins the job and comes out filthy. If he has a good first half at that price the Twins could flip him for a low B level prospect. He could go on to pitch for a team that has a chance at the playoffs and the Twins could continue to get some future value out of a bad contract offer.
I wonder how they are going to use Hunter this year. Will he be the everyday corner outfielder Or will they have him doing some DH? If so, maybe they could go with Arcia Hicks Schafer when Nolasco is pitching.
I think they go forward with Suzuki for 2015. But it will be interesting to see what they do if two or more of; Pinto, Herrman, Turner and Garver do well next year. If so, they have to view Suzuki and/or one of the prospects as a trade piece.
