    I get that there is a day off today....but do we have to burn through pitchers every inning? Stashak threw 10 pitches. He could have gone one more. Robles looked good. Rogers looked effective. Colome didn't have his normal bite. Never should have got to Dobnak. Will Rocco ever bunt over the guy at second in extra innings? Donaldson leads off the year with a double. Why would he stay in when Dick even saw it from Minneapolis. What if there was a base hit and he had to try to score? Hader is good.

    Pitch the ball......catch the ball. Where is Tom Kelly when you need him. Make the plays that need to be made. I have not been impressed with the effort of our catchers. Especially in the fielding department. Garver has botched some key plays...notably the roller down the line the other night, pick up the ball, tag the runner. He and Castro miss balls with a guy on third that should be caught. Back to the basics....

    I am going to be a little more optimistic about Mauer this year. I think he plays in the 120-125 games this year. His facing lefty stats will improve. 425AB, .295 avg. And i am going for 15 HR's. Why....i don't know. Optimism.

    I said it last week. Is there some mechanic he is teaching these players or not teaching them that makes them look pathetic at the plate...not the right approach...striking out way too much. Baffling....I am with you, something has to change and it could be Brunansky. But then again we let some coaches stick around way to long before.

    Maybe...just maybe, they are planning on bringing Buxton up right away for Torii to mentor, instead of mentoring Hicks. I wouldn't mind.
