I agree, Berrios had high pitch count because of poor locn on off speed We were in the game going toe to toe with Yanks. What lost the game was Littel (nerves, zero command) Stashak ( looked like an amateur out there throwing meatballs) Gibby the nibbler who allows just one hit in one inning BUT walks three resulting in 3 runs. He’s a 7 year veteran. And, this is the best he can do. Reminds me of a Viking QB performance. Arraez didn’t seem 100% which cost us 2 runs. But, my biggest disappointment was Berrios, our Ace. He had his FB going but zero off speed command. He needed to step up in his biggest game but couldn’t. Paxton on the other hand, looked good and we still got to him. We’ll win next one and watch Bob Costas go into shock.

MLB Gamecast last night was calling Graterol’s FB a sinker because of the movement. When he gave up the homer, his pitch sequence was 98.2 sinker, fouled off 98.9 sinker, fouled off 91.9 Changeup, Homerun Now, if the Foul offs were late, the batter (I believe Collins) caught up to the Changeup and clobbered it. 2 things: I blame Castro for calling that pitch. Graterol had the hitter on the ropes. Should have finished him off with that nasty slider of his of which he was hitting 89 to 90. Second, Graterol this off season will need to work on his Changeup The next batter, Gamecast clocked one of his Sinker/FB at 100

What struck me the most was the accessibility, interaction with the players and coaches. You can easily walk around, watching 4 games going on at once in the minor league complex, then head on over to Hammond. My son in law can’t get over it, you go over to the Red Sox complex and it’s totally different. Players for the most part are sealed off from the fans. It’s a great experience, Twins do a fantastic job for the fans.

Article: Minnesota's Super Bowls and World Series

Thanks for the memories. I too was at the Rams and Browns game and remember them vividly but it would have been impossible for me to know you as we were all wrapped up, face barely shown. I was on the second deck, facing the wind. Gutted it out but loved it. Grass spray painted green for tv effect. I believe George Allen brought Rams up week early to get use to the cold and practiced outdoors. Still didn’t help them. It seems the Browns game was colder, perfect conditions for Joe Kapp and his wounded duck pass. Browns D Lineman, I think Walter Johnson, got carted off the field. Kapp knocked him out when jumping over him Then, 6 months later, I would be sitting in left field bleachers in beautiful summer weather at the old Met, watching Billy Martin rip umpires a new one. I still felt we could of taken Koufax in that 7th game in 65. But, nothing ever compares to 87 and 91. Man, I was on cloud nine for weeks. Viola, Morris, Pucket, Hrbeck. None of them would be denied or accept failure. I hope this current Twins bunch has the same competitive traits but I’m a little skeptical on a few of them I’m hoping they prove me wrong. -
I believe the last Twin to be promoted direct from hi A ball to the majors is the great Kent Hrbeck. Puckett went from Double A to majors. Be pretty special to have Kirilloff join Hrbeck.

“He’s from out in the country, a little town called Conyers" That little town, is on I-20, east side of Atlanta, now considered in metro. Travel ball is crazy down here. I was talking to a Mother whose son is a,6'1" Junior, pitcher, radar reading at 94 mph but has excellent slider and change up. Mets been scouting him for 2 yrs. He's on a elite team, coached by ex mlb player, travel all over country. Has 2 kids from Canada that stay here and are on the team. They just had their son return from AZ, he was pumped. Flew 1st class and back. Otherwise, Mom and Dad log lots of weekend miles and Motels. Heck of a sacrifice on their part. For the most part, the scouts know all the kids. The Mets scout talks only with their son/coaches and not to the parents. Scouts like his secondary stuff. As for radar readings, some kids down here are hitting 95 plus Once High School season starts, the elite travel ball is shut down.

Anytime our draft picks get promoted, I’m all for it. I too would have liked Gonsalves but saw some interviews Stewart had where last 2 years dealing with injuries (knees, shoulder) and this year, he’s finally healthy. Sounds like he had a Spring meeting with the brass and they convinced him to throw less of the heater, ditch the 2 seamer in favor of 1 seamer to get more sink and focus on the off speed. His last few starts all came together and he now has renewed confidence I hope it all goes well. Then, next up Gonsalves, Romero, Thorpe, Gibby and Berrios. All Twins draftee/intl signees. Finally, the pipeline is working the way it should.

Kiriloff goes to high A and didn't skip a beat, not even a hiccup. I like Jeffers a lot but still have to go Kirioff. Great report as always Seth. Bottom line; we got some big time guys that can really mash.

Boy, this FO doesn't mess around, I lost count of all the guys traded. As Howeda7 alluded to, I'm not so sure they hurt themselves also. There were a number of underperformers this year that were moved on, with the exception of Escobar and that took me a few days to get over. But trading Dozier makes the most sense. Daily I'd check the box score and cringe at the number of runners LOB when he's batting So time to move on, maybe he was pressing trying to get that trillion $ contract. Who knows. Was surprised to see any return at all on this trade. Would like to see a summary from the TDGuys on all the players the FO got and where they slot in to play, as well as rankings. Great job to TD keeping us posted on the latest news. Tom F today beat MLB.com on the Dozier trade. Great scoop Tom. Now, if we could just unload Morrison and The Rodney, life will be good.
