    I would argue that this season the opposing pitchers both starting and relief pitchers were much tougher than what we face last year. White Sox, KC, Detroit, Cleveland, St. Louis, Cincinnati all showed improved arms with a ton of power arms coming out of the bullpen. Pittsburgh is the only team that was not in that category. The hitting coach may not have been the problem.

    Just think how many homeless people could have been helped with all the public money used to build Target Field. Now would be a good time to use it as a homeless shelter. We dont need it for baseball anymore.

    Maybe we would have got a franchise maybe we wouldn't have one. Minneapolis was compared to Omaha until we got the Twins so it was significant to have a major league franchise in the 60's . The impact it had on the perception on the area influenced business development in the area including other sports.

    I will Reserve judgment on this taking down of the statue until I see how the twins historically recognize Calvin Griffiths Legacy because without Calvin the twins would not be here and if anyone is offended by going to a game because of Calvin Griffith those words will never change it came out of his mouth but the only reason the twins are here so that you can go to a game is because of calvin. so It will be very interesting to see if they totally ignore Calvin in the stadium or if they have a place of history and memorabilia recognizing Calvin.

    Don't forget how the Giants had looked at Minneapolis as a home before locating to California. The sign was located by hwy 100 and 12 close to the old Lincoln Dell restaurant out there.

    The Yankees have a huge advantage in the bullpen. We may have a nice bullpen but it is not a shutdown end of game bullpen that the Yankees have. With our starters we have there will be 4 innings to be covered. Taylor Rodgers is good but we don't have one let alone two other ones to shut down a playoff team.

    I said it at the trade deadline to trade Lewis for a number one because of emergence of Araez. The naysayers will poo poo this because they love potential over production. Sundagaard would look good right now.

    Adrianza has got to stay at Short. He is hitting now as well as Polanco but gives us much needed defense. You can't win this thing giving away outs. Our pitching isn't that good.

    Luis Arreze I believe has made Lewis available. For all we know Lewis may not pan out, he's not exactly living up to a number 1 overall pick, Arreze is.

    There is no doubt Gonzalez needs to be the 3rd baseman and Arreze the second baseman. They battle and find a way to get it done. Sano's occasional home run dosent make up for his defense or lack of RBI'S production. The same for Scoop although not quite as deficienthe as Sano.

    What was the price they paid for their new players would be interesting to know. Who were they and how highly regarded/ranked were they? Maybe that would give us Falvey and Levine s risk reward tolerance to project what they would be willing to give up.
