TwinsMasochist's Achievements

  1. We shouldn't have to be teaching guys like Arcia how to defend. They are in the majors. He should know how to judge a balls trajectory, he should have developed good instincts at some point, and his route running and jumps should be acceptable. None of them are. He's been shagging balls for years and years and still doesn't get it. It's pretty disappointing. I doubt all of that is just going to spontaneously "click" after a few extra practices.
  2. I'll refresh your memory Cole De vries, Albers, Diamond, Deduno, Hendriks, worley, Marquis, Pelfrey, Correia, Burton, Yohan Pino, clete thomas, Jaimie carrol, Mastroianni, Nishioka, Nick Blackburn, Matt Capps, Jim Hoey, Alex Burnett,Jon Rauch.. The list goes on and on. We are a revolving door of ineptitude.
  3. Escobar is deserving of place in the starting lineup.. somewhere. If not with the twins, I hope we can move him for a decent return to a team sorely needing production at 3B or SS. It would be a shame to waste his lively bat and slick defense in some sort of platoon or bench role. He has earned the opportunity to start. We have Nunez to fill in the bench void Escobar would leave and his numbers and ability are much more suited for a bench role than Escobar's are.
  4. Absolutely, nice find. He threw it under his chest like he was protecting his child!
  5. Whoops, i totally missed that. My bad! When it comes down to it, I am having a hard time, personally, deciding whether it is better to use hicks/chafe (platoon, or chafe as 4th) to cover more ground, take better routes and help our slow corner guys - or to put santana out there in CF, Escobar at SS and go all out offensive mode.
  6. He hit for us .285 for us in his brief stint so I think the question is "Is what he did sustainable?" and the answer is no, probably not.
  7. "I was with him until the blue collar thing. If Berrios comes from a wealthy family, that's news to me. Or maybe he meant something else by that. Anyway, that part was strange." "Blue Collar" is synonymous with working hard for a living, getting your hands dirty and bringing your lunch pale to work every day. Maybe that's the kind of environment Burdi grew up in, or maybe he's just expressing a familiar stereotype. Either way, I doubt that was a shot at Berrios.
  8. Waldo's health is becoming concerning. He will definitely see some time on the DL this year. He may have to eventually entertain the idea of not swinging for the fences at every pitch that's even remotely hittable (and some that aren't). No need to force himself to play in the winter league dinged up. Rest, relax and be 100% for ST. If he were smart, he'd use this free time to study video and become familiarized with strategies opposing pitchers are using to get him out.
  9. Waldo's nagging injuries :(

  10. IIRC Santana had somewhere around the 4th highest BABIP in the last decade- certainly not sustainable, especially when considering his career minor league line. I am expecting regression. However, I don't think he will hit less than .270.
  11. With a violent, powerful swing like his I would definitely rest him. Lay low until ST and get right.
