    Grew up in Iowa and became a Twins (and Vikings) fan in 1987 when I was 7. Kirby Puckett is my favorite Twin of all-time with probably Brad Radke second. Also a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan, and graduated from Iowa in 2002.

    IIRC, the fun part of his hitting streak in every game he played was that it was multiple pinch hitting appearances, not just his debut. That shrinks the odds of keeping it quite a bit. But just him finally making it to the show was a great accomplishment in perseverence.

    Always enjoyed Bert, and I'd imagine it's his decision to retire. I loved that he wasn't afraid to critique the Twins players instead of just being a homer like most.

    Don't think I'd put Ben Revere on the list, but Lew Ford deserves consideration. And Bartolo by the time he was a Twin.

    Probably have to leave some room for any makeup games since every game could be three times as important. Unfortunately, the rain isn't going to have any extra sympathy when it comes to trying to squeeze the season into it's already tight schedule.

    2005 they started 36-24, but only won 83 games and the White Sox won the division and World Series.

    I was a Shane Mack fan even as a Padre just because he had a 1985 Topps card with the Olympic Team. When he joined the Twins I was ecstatic even though I had no clue if he was actually good or not. Looks like he only played 20 games at AAA in 1989, so maybe the Padres gave up on him because of injuries. Lucky for the Twins, one of several Rule V gems they've found over the years.

    I might put Roger Erickson in there in place of Williams based on his 80s numbers, better ERA and Ks. Although his 14 win season came as a rookie in '78, so his W-L record wasn't too great for the 80s.

    I've always enjoyed that Lou Collins and Mike McGrevey have their jerseys displayed on the wall of Dorn's office in Major League 3 when he's the Twins GM. Fun movie crossover continuity.

    Damn 1994 strike, Kirby would've broke that team record going away. He had 112 in the 108 games he played with 49 left for the team. Could've hit poorly the last two months and still got 29 RBIs. Same with Knoblauch and the doubles record, he almost certainly gets 60 doubles if they finish the year.

    Kirby was going to get to bat cleanup that year. Considering Molitor and Knoblauch both batted .346 and Cordova drove in 111 runs knocking them in, Kirby probably gets at least 130 if he played. IIRC he had two hits off Greg Maddux in his final spring game. Maybe they play .500 ball and the franchise gets turned around a bit earlier than 2001.

    I don't have any of them, but I'd proudly wear a Pat Meares, Frankie Rodriguez, or Dan Serafini jersey.
