  1. You lost me at "Pelfrey at top of rotation"...
  2. Ummm, maybe because he is 30 and hasn't a consistently good year - or even a consistently goodhalf year. Don't get me wrong I like and pull for the guy (how can you not), but even as desperate the Twins are for starting pitching they are not counting on Deduno.
  3. Dude, it's the offseason of 3X 90-loss team. Not much is going on and if it does it doesn't matter that much (it's not like the Twins are going to make a major signing). I love Aaron's sense of humor and even more John's appreciation of it. It sounds like both of them enjoy doing the podcast (when they can schedule it around Aaron's social/love life) and it comes across in the show
  4. Ok, I understand Liriano and I know Burrent improved, but what is up with the man-love for the Pirates pitching coach? People were gushing about Rick Anderson in 2002-2003. Liriano was good here at times too. Another coach could of figured out Liriano's mechanical issue too. Maybe it is Searage's personality clicked with Lirano. He has had a similar playing career and coaching career as own Rick Anderson
  5. 1)No. RF or DH for Arcia 2)No, I Think a platoon of Calobello and Parmalee with a sprinking of Mauer or even Plouffle is a decent patchwork until someone steps ups and takes the position. I wouldn't be againist signing Morneau. He might be too expansive for TR though. 3)Maybe. If his concussion(s) continue to be a problem 4)Maybe. I think he can and would be a really cool story. His AAA numbers are silly. He deserves a shot. 5)No. I think we have enough options at least for next year (another non-competing year)
  6. Dozier's success should give us caution about ever giving up on a mid-1st talent like Hicks. IMO the Twins kept Hicks up not because they really wanted to, but because they really had no other options for CF (and really leadoff). Finally, they gave up and had to start Thomas, then Presley in CF. You give Hicks at least 2 more years, more like 3, 4 to prove himself unless he bombs like Joe Benson. Of course he maybe trade bait for a pitcher- esp. if they more Rosario back to OF
  7. I see a lot of fantasy FA (esp. pitcher) signings, not just here but other comment broads. I know that it's a FO excuse too, but it takes two to tangle. Minnesota is not a place were FA have on the top of there list, at least the front line FA. Any no way would Ryan sign any pitcher for 15$ a year, esp how Lincecum has pitch last 2 years. Johnson at 7$ is maybe reasonable, but it better be incentive based. Siezmore I don't see coming here, esp with our outfield depth in the minors. I think they give Hicks another shot or even Mastro starting. Depends on ST again (a sad repeat of last year)
  8. I remember West being the central piece of this trade. Watching him pitch he looked awkward. Almost side armed. High fastball, but no movement and not much else. My Mom had a huge crush on Frankie, and she was devastated too.....
  9. why WOULD he pick Gardy? 2 90+ loss season does not spell worthy
  10. Knowing that Beltre made that many errors at that age gives great hope for Sano's defense. Beltre is probably the best defensive 3rd basemen in the game.
  11. Easy tiger, this is atleast a year early (more like 2-3). Big guy just got to AA a few days ago
  12. Funny, people were saying last year that Doumit is a prefect fit for this team and not all that much has changed besides catching prospects have gotten a year old. With Mauer Twins need a semi-regular hitting catcher. Even though defensively he is bad at least he is versatile and team player. He is valuable esp. to the Twins and probably more valuable to the Twins than other teams
