huhguy got a reaction from Dman for a blog entry, Twins show courage, make the right pick
I love the pick! This is the type of player that a number one pick should be, a Buxton type talent that can grow into a super star. BRAVO!

huhguy got a reaction from Willihammer for a blog entry, So you want a darkhorse in the draft?
This kid just won the Gatorade Player of the Year
6 2 LHP that touches 94
He is 10-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 68 1/3 innings this season. At the plate, Gore is hitting a team-best .482 with 17 extra-base hits and 27 RBI.
Who else has won the award?
7: RHP Rick Porcello (West Orange, N.J.)
2006: LHP/1B Clayton Kershaw (Dallas)
2005: SS/3B Justin Upton (Chesapeake, Va.)
2004: RHP/SS Mark Rogers (Topsham, Maine)
2003: OF Chris Lubanski (Collegeville, Pa.)
2002: RHP/SS Zack Greinke (Apopka, Fla.)
Remember the name Mackenzie Gore
Could go as high as 3, but most likely in top 10

huhguy got a reaction from David HK for a blog entry, Offer this guy Mall of America....
Do what it takes to sign this guy....right now..DO NOT LET RYAN et al participate in the draft!
Candidate: Jason McLeod
Current role: Senior Vice President, Player Development and Amateur Scouting (Cubs)
Skill set: During his tenure with the Cubs, McLeod has played a major role in turning over an organization that was thin on minor-league talent, augmenting the infield talent that was present before his tenure with Kris Bryant and Albert Almora. He also has a keen eye for what can be considered undervalued pitching, as the Cubs have enjoyed pitching success by acquiring "project" arms whose value has increased with the club—most recently Jake Arrieta and Jason Hammel. His resume shows that he has an eye for talent and would be a good fit for a larger role in any front office.

huhguy got a reaction from bdavis22 for a blog entry, Time to blow up the Twins...
Lets face reality.... The Twins Organization...does not know how to evaluate talent....Thats the number 1-3 problem.
Terry Ryan...(i have been a defender of him in the past) got a lot of credit for the Nathan trade, developing J Santana etc...but who the heck has he drafted? I know, I know..Mauer.but even on Mauer the organization was divided....The problem pure and simple is..the Twins don;t have enough talent....
To be a decent organization, Ryan has to go...and my next move would be to demote Mauer to full time bench...or give him his outright release...he is taking a valuable hitting spot off the table. I was hopeful too about his start but he is receding rapidly into the same average hitting first baseman. Play Park full time and DH Arcia most of the time.
The time is now for a complete revamp! At this point too, let the young pitchers come up and get their ears batted back....

huhguy got a reaction from David HK for a blog entry, Somebody please explain the Molitor Psychosis about Escobar...
Why is Molitor so intent on playing other people at SS. Many of you have made the point way back that Escobar is the best SS we have.
Recently
Escobar walk off double
Nunez plays the next day (I was shocked)
First game against Orioles - Escobar doubles and homers
Nunez plays the next day
WTF? Now Molitor is even making excuses for his inexcusable decisions...Pre-Game Last night, we are going righty heavy lineup against this lefthander...THIS JUST IN..Escobar is a SWITCH HITTER! The righty of course was Nunez, otherwise the lineup was normal...
Please if you have any idea why the Head Psycho is doing this, PLEASE tel me!

huhguy got a reaction from jbissell for a blog entry, We cant trust Perkins, Buxton now!
Wow...we can not afford to keep trotting Perkins out to close...Move Jepsen there now. I do believe this is mental on Perkins part, slide him back until he is the old Perkins, but to have any chance of a post season spot we have to change.
The other major thing we need to do is bring Buxton up now, his feet are elite and will win us three games...might not be enough but when you are this close you need to go for it...bring him up immediately.
There are a million Shane Robinsons, so Buxton can slide right into his place.
Thank You Tori, but now you have to yield some time...for the hope of attaining post season

huhguy got a reaction from bholmgren for a blog entry, How fun is this?
You guys should thank me for calling the Twins the worst team in baseball history..notice the trip they have been on ever since?
How fun is it to watch these guys?
Plouffe is playing a Gold Glove 3b, Robinson doesnt realize who he really is..Joe has come through with some clutch extra base hits...wow..
But you know what...we are winning and winning a lot...because..drum roll..our pitching..now how phenomenal is it to be able to say that?
Time for me to work my magic again..here goes..
Nolasco is terrible...I want to see him traded yesterday...yes we will pay half his salary and take just about anybody in return...When I watch Nolasco pitch I think...his pitches are flat...they dont have velocity.whats not to love about him if you are an opposing batter? Ok..you can thank me later if Nolasco is going to rebound it will be now...

huhguy got a reaction from Jham for a blog entry, Our Offense is better? Really?
Is it concerning to you that we hear our offense is better, and yet we score two runs a game on a consistent basis?
Oh..hold..today we got one...I totally get we aren't playing with full lineups...but guess what neither are our opponents.
In addition the pitching we are facing..many are experimenting with pitches, we are facing minor league pitchers as well. A few games ago we hit four home runs, but did you watch that game? How many were wind blown?
I think to compete we HAVE to have Escobar and Santana in the lineup.and while we are at it..Im not sold on Vargas.
I'm concerned and I think you should be.
