    Tell me if I am remembering this correctly: During a game in the 1987 World Series, McCarver criticizes Gaetti for playing too far off the line against a Cardinal hitter. On the next pitch, the batter lines directly into Gaetti’s glove. McCarver: “Give that man a PhD!”

    Hard choices, but have to include Puck. I’m a long term fan, and I think he really changed the dynamic toward winning and the way fans began to relate with real love (and not just “Minnesota niceness”) for the team.

    Maybe it is just a matter of taste: I happen to prefer a team that plays great defense and is able to play small ball when needed. The Bomba squad had good chemistry and was fun, but it isn’t what I will cherish most in my 50 plus years of being a Twins fan.

    …while the Vikings are in a playoff game..:) I actually did try to follow the game thread here, even though I am not specifically a Vikes fan. It was fun to see Twins fans I know here suffering through a big Vikings game.
