  1. Of course, we play in the central, so it's always going to be close, and I'm not saying the current roster is bad. This offseason has been very disappointing, and not signing Correa, and somehow missing on him twice after the Giants debacle really stings. But just look at our roster. Does this team beat the Guardians to the division title? Who has better pitching? Guardians. Who has the better lineup? Guardians. That is where we should be. But just looking at our team, I see a lot of unproven young players who have a lot of potential, players who can break out and have amazing seasons, but right now? I don't trust this team. I don't trust the front office, nor management. It sucks. Max win total I'll say for us right now is 80 wins with this roster.
  2. I mean, being honest, we probably were not going to get him, especially with the money he was asking for, but the fact he went to New York is painful to me. Sigh, this offseason's been kind of a crapshoot.
  3. Sadly, in terms of attendance, it's always hard to sell the Twins even in Minneapolis. It's never really obvious to me when I actually go to games, but I haven't been at Target field since 2019 and that was the year, we were actually good, and it was also in July. Most games I watched last year, even though we were first place most of the year, it just looked empty.
  4. Kyle Farmer is not a bad holdover to have at short, plus he's got position flexibility. I'd play him they're until Royce is ready to return, but having a player like Dansby would be ideal at short, though I'd much rather throw money at Rodon.
  5. Bradfield is one of the few College baseball players I actually know and he's such an exciting player to watch. At number 5, idk he might be a reach.
  6. In this scenario, Twins get Dansby and also sign Mancini to be a DH/1B C: Christian Vazquez ($10.00M) 1B: Luis Arraez ($4.50M) 2B: Jorge Polanco ($7.50M) 3B: Jose Miranda ($0.70M) SS: Dansby Swanson ($25.00M) LF: Alex Kirilloff ($0.70M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Max Kepler ($8.50M) DH: Trey Mancini ($8.00M) 4th OF: Kyle Garlick ($0.70M) Utility: Nick Gordon ($0.70M) Utility: Gilberto Celestino ($0.70M) Backup C: Ryan Jeffers ($0.70M) SP1: Sonny Gray ($12.00M) SP2: Tyler Mahle ($8.00M) SP3: Kenta Maeda ($9.00M) SP4: Joe Ryan ($0.70M) SP5: Bailey Ober ($0.70M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Lopez ($3.00M) RP: Griffin Jax ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($1.00M) RP: Caleb Thielbar ($2.00M) Payroll is 13.93% under budget
  7. I would've love having Correa back, as much as every Twins fan probably did. But he got a massive contract we would've never matched in the first place. I don't know the direction this front office goes this offseason. Rodon is very much at play, so is Dansby. A Luis Arraez for Pablo Lopez deal also isn't out of the question. Here's 3 things I want to see the Twins do with Correa gone. 1. Sign Rodon, Dansby, one of them. Getting one would be ideal and increase the celling of this team. In this case on who I would want to sign, probably Rodon. Kyle Farmer is a pretty solid holdover at short until Lewis can come back and get SS reps. 2. Get another veteran bat for the lineup. A Nelson Cruz reunion? I don't know if we want to sign a 42 year old, but Cruz would be great veteran leadership for a team that doesn't really have that long term veteran on the team. 3. If we do indeed trade Arraez for a good pitcher, I want to sign somebody who could play 1B and also DH. somebody like a Trey Mancini.
  8. Very important
  9. Really I'm not the biggest fan of about half of these options, like Gordon, like Buxton, Kirloff I'm high on, and Kepler. Everyone else I'm not fully convinced can be consistent starters at the big league level, except for Wallner.
  10. I don't know how aggressive we will be in the offseason, but here are some thi 1. Time to go hunting for an elite starting pitcher We see with teams that win championships and make deep playoff runs, they have at least one or two high end or one elite level starter. The Twins best pitcher right now, probably either Tyler Mahle or Sonny Gray, are at best on other teams a third or fourth pitcher on a championship contender. We have no guy in our pitching staff that has "that guy" mentality other than Duran, who should be our closer. I don't think we have a shot at a Degrom or Kershaw, but somebody like a Carlos Rodon, or heck, even Justin Verlander, would be very ideal for the Twins to at least take a shot at. Trading for somebody wouldn't be too bad either, maybe a Pablo Lopez perhaps? 2. Sign a SS, Correa or anyone else Ideally, we all want one of the best free agent signings in Twins history to return after he opted out of his contract recently, but with potential mega offers coming from teams like the Dodgers and Yankees, the Twins might not be able to outbid them. Luckily, we have three other pretty good options, namely Xander Bogaerts, Dansby Swanson and Trea Turner. Turner ideally would be my choice at SS if Correa doesn't come back. He's such a dynamic athlete with elite level speed and good enough power who is almost always guarantee to hit .300 every season. I would love if the Twins got Turner, but all of the other top options at short would be great. There are of course other things the Twins desperately need this offseason, including Catcher and relief pitcher, SP and SS I think are the two biggest needs this offseason.
  11. I've always liked Austin as a prospect, and he's always been a guy where I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins call him straight up from Wichita to the MLB. He struggled last year a bit, but he's been raking in the Arizona fall league so far and I'm just wondering when do the Twins give him a shot? We have a lot of infielders who can play his position already, but I feel like he can actually get a shot sooner or later at the big leagues. I just want him to get a shot, but with how deep we are in the infield, I just don't see him making the roster immediately. What do you guys think of Austin?
  12. Would not mind bringing someone like him back, but we really need someone "Elite" other than Duran in the bullpen and not just fill it with guys declining in age. Really hope they go aggressive this offseason in terms of the bulpen
