  1. Truly wrecking a great team. Thoroughly disappointed. These players are so good. What a let down. Scatterbrained on the field. If everyone is playing bad, the problem is with the manager. For example, if analytics are so great, how does Pagan get the ball when the Twins are down by 2 runs in a game they must win, which occurred Monday. When Pagan left the mound the Twins were down by 3 runs. My analytics say that the Twins need an 8 run lead for Pagan to come into the game. So what metric does Baldelli use for Pagan and continues to treat other players differently? Another example is Celestino. He batted .310 to .320 for 6 weeks, and batted ninth the whole year. You reward positive behavior to get positive results. Arraez is the same. He earned first base full time, every game, but Baldelli keeps messing with him, rather than treating him like the leader he is. Garlick leading off?...give me a break. Good man, good numbers, but not leadoff. Varland should have never come off the mound today. He was in complete control. But he did come off the mound, and the score was tied at the end of the inning.
  2. ...... there is too much analytics, and no competition between players. They are confused about his decisions nearly every game, as am I. Automatically pulling pitchers for no reason. Arraez not leading off every game is another one. He's earned leadoff, and should be there 100% of the time. He'd be batting .375 if Baldelli would get out of his way. Arraez is the team leader and the only one with swagger. I could go on and on, but as a fan, I follow the games now as background noise. The Twins have great players that are not allowed to excel. I like Baldelli as a person, but World Series winners do not manage like this.
  3. His OBP is very low. Just as important as average. I know I'm wrong.
  4. It's very realistic. Check the data for the year, not 7 games. The first 5 positions also, not 9. There are better hitters than Buxton, so those hitters should be rewarded. Buc, when he does not strike out and hits .280, he can move back up. You need to have the competition and drive. Celestino should have been second in the line up for six weeks at .300 - .320, but was not. Ninth every game. If Baldelli is data-driven, this should have been the case.
  5. Not the first 100 games. NY has consistency. That is why they are .667. They make the players compete.
  6. I'm talking the first 5 batters full season, usually. Twins, nothing close to that. Not even. Arraez is on the bench a lot. He should lead off every game, all the time. His performance is dropping too due to negative reinforcement. He earned the first spot just like DJ. You reward positive results. Negative reinforcement happens a lot in the dugout. Just my opinion though.
  7. Baldelli needs to treat his pitchers like men. None of them can throw more than one inning. They have no endurance. There is no competition between pitchers. They're brought in with no runners on base, thus each of them pitch like they're throwing batting practice. We have good pitchers if you treat them as an asset and have right coaching. If a pitcher has good stuff, keep them in there. If not pull them out. They can develop into a Verlander or Maddox, but there is no chance of it because of Baldelli's guessing game. The biggest problem we have is the head coach. Nice person I'm sure, but he needs to reward output. For what reason would Arraez not play? Are you going help develop him into Rod Carew or make him sit on the bench in place of Sano, or a lefty starting. Please. Baldelli for some reason punishes a good player. Why did Celestino bat ninth while in the bigs? He had a hot bat for weeks, but was humiliated batting 9th every game, thus extinguishing output. NY plays the same lineup every day. They compete daily for their positions. What is their record? Hmmm... Balldelli has different lineup every game. He routinely benches players who expect to play. There is so much negative reinforcement going on. Here's an example of what Baldelli says every game to many players, "Hey Louie, great game last night going 4 for 5 and 3 rbi's. For that reason, you are benched tonight." There, I said it.
