  1. In my opinion, the deepest market left in free agency is relief pitching. I might consider adding 2-3....Chafin, Fulmer, etc. Maybe even a 1-year "prove it" deal for Taylor Rogers. Those and similar others should be available for $4-$8 million per season. If things go south, at the trade deadline we'll hopefully have some chips to replenish our prospect pool that we drained some last year.
  2. I'd have to add David McCarty to the biggest disappointment discussion. Taken 3rd overall in the '91 draft, he was a "can't miss" college bat that would carry the Twins into the 2000's. As a teen, I couldn't wait for him to get to get to the big club...man did he miss...a lot!
  3. It looks to be the minority opinion, and while Lewis has looked fantastic, it's a small sample size. "IF" he is the future at SS, he needs to play SS...everyday. He's missed 2 full seasons of development...timing, footwork, throws, etc. doesn't come back in just one spring training and a month's worth of games. If Correa is ready to come back and play, he'll have the majority of the time at SS, so I'd send Lewis back to St. Paul, knowing he's full of confidence and just on the other side of Mississippi when he's needed.
  4. It's a tough pill, but I'd actually make the Castillo deal. Controllable front-line starters won't come cheap and to get 3 years, for Royce and Kepler seems reasonable. We don't know what Royce will be, and that was prior to the injury. There are plenty of skeptics on how much he will hit. Kepler is who he is at this point and with Kiriloff, Larach, Wallner, etc. coming along, we should consider him as a valuable trade chip. I don't like what's left on the FA market, and while I hate giving up prospects, I think having Austin Martin now helps ease a loss of Royce.
