  1. Funny, I was looking for a draft update from you, Jeremy, when I posted a topic on how Skenes would / should be the Twins’ pick just a while ago. Now I see you’ve posted a new piece…you’re telling me Skenes might not even be available at 5! If the first four are Skenes/Dollander/Crews/Clark, I would think Langford would be the pick. But now I’m going to start keeping tabs on Taylor.
  2. While Dylan Crews, Wyatt Langford and Chase Dollander are mentioned as the top picks to target in the upcoming the draft, I’m beginning to think that Wes Johnson’s best pitcher at LSU, Air Force transfer (like Griffin Jax) Paul Skenes should be the Twins’ pick at #5. Here’s his line through the first three games of their season: 3G, 18IP, 1ER, 0.5ERA, 6H, 36K, 3BB Getting an Aaron Nola vibe with Skenes. Nola was also a LSU Friday pitcher who had amazing command in college. He could have been the Twins fifth pick in 2014 instead of Nick Gordon. Nola got picked by Philly at #7. Of course, Nola never threw 100mph: It certainly would be out of the norm for the Twins to draft a college pitcher. But interesting connections (Wes Johnson, Air Force, the miss with a prior #5 LSU superstar) abound. I’m putting down a marker calling a Skenes’ pick by the Twins. Who do folks think will be the pick?

  5. All of the big polling firms agree, they always have it as an option.
  6. They are ranked #1 in the country in the D1 baseball preseason poll. Skenes pitched 6 innings in their opener yesterday, 12Ks, hit 99 on the gun.
  7. Roses are red Violets are blue Giants and Mets s*** the bed So Twins I choose you
  8. Am I the only one who finds it interesting that Simeon Woods Richardson and Connor Prielipp are both 22 year olds drafted #48 overall in the draft? They sure took different paths to land as the 6th and 7th best prospects in the Twins’ system in 2023.
  9. Are there any other Byrons? Twins have Buxton and Chourious. Heck, is there a Byron Lopez out there?
  10. I don’t think this makes a ton of sense after the López trade, but I’d like to see the Twins trade Max Kepler to the Rockies for German Marquez. I think Marquez could be excellent if he moved out of Coors, and I think Kepler would benefit from playing there like Morneau and Cuddyer did - and the Rockies are looking for LH outfielders, including possibly to play center. Alternatively, they also have some good bullpen arms like Bard and Kinley. Getting both for Kepler would be quite something.
  11. Thanks for providing the link to Rylan Domingues of Tread Athletics. Is that someone you follow, or was that just a random piece of info you came across. Looks like they have some pretty interesting analysis.
