  1. I'm tired of us not giving our own developed minor leaguers a chance and playing waiver wire pickups that we keep for a month and then send away. I would think it would be really discouraging to the players developing in our system. As for Astudillo, sure he looks good in spring training when guys are trying to throw strikes, but when the season starts major league pitchers will just throw him balls and let him hit his way into soft contact outs.
  2. I see Nick replacing the role Ehire Adrianza had with the team. Maybe not to start the year but by the end of it. Although it seems like in the past our front office would rather pick up guys off waivers for bench roles from other teams then fill from within when a need arises.
  3. No mention of Nick Gordon? Seems like he is really being overlooked. I don’t see why he cant fill adrianzas role this year and back up 2b and short.
  4. You nailed the list. Couldn't agree more. Just wanted to add that Ken Griffey Jr's winning run did actually have all of the real players they just had made up names. All of the stats were correct from the season before and you could edit the names. I edited all of the names on my system to the correct names.
  5. I would prefer to go with what we have (Blankehorn, Gordon) and sign some minor league free agent deals with a couple veteran C's and MI's. Put our money towards pitching, bringing back Nelson Cruz, and getting a backup CF who bats RH.
  6. I am good with the pick. By the time this guy comes up their may be a DH in the national league and these type of guys will be harder to find. Hopefully we stock up on pitching with are other three picks.
  7. That offer seems really light. I remember thinking at the time of the Cole trade that Pittsburgh got hosed and that was even before Cole blew up. I would love for that trade to go through, but I think it would take something more along the lines of Duran, Rooker, and Jeffers.
  8. I am also on board with keeping Gordon. We can let Schoop go and he can fill the role Arraez was used for this year and like others have said replace adrianza in the future. I loved that the 2019 twins actually had depth. In years past we had no depth and one injury would put a AAA journey man in our lineup. This year we were able to manage more injuries because we actually had MLB quality players on our bench and even a few that could step in from AAA.
  9. Are you going to be writing a gcl twins preview? I have been looking forward to it because alot of those guys are unknown to me.
  10. I was talking more in the lines of the Jon Kemmer, Nick Buss, James Ramsey's of the world. Not the legitimate AAA guys with MLB experience.
  11. I like that this team has some prospect talent this year. Seems like the last two years have had the roster full of journeyman types.
  12. I wonder if the twins have had any thoughts into playing Nick Gordon some in the outfield. I just don't see where he is going to fit into the plans as a long term starter at either SS or 2B, with the other options discussed. If he was able to play both middle infield positions along with outfield he could make a possibly good utility player for us and that seems to have greater value these days than it has in the past.
  13. Agree hate the gold. Was hoping they would get rid of it this year not add more of it.
  14. I feel like Adalberto Mejia should be a guy that we look to move into the bullpen to see if his stuff plays up. He always seems to struggle to get through 5 innings. Maybe he could be a guy in the bullpen that we could look to get 2 or 3 innings at a time out of.
