  1. Great information. It would be really nice to see Pinto get some time in September. Doumit was a great story last year but has no future with the Twins. Nice to see Trevor Mays stats really improving after a rough April. One thing that stands out for may is the lower WHIP. He still needs to have a little more control.
  2. Punto obviously is in the decline, but I think he would a great guy to have on your bench, im not the biggest fan of Punto, but the flair and grittiness that he brought to the Twins was nice, and thats what I think they need. They need a guy to show them how to hustle and go all out everyday, and Punto always did that in a Twins uni.
  3. I love Morneau, but they need to find a spot for Parmelee like now. We cant continue to hinder his development in the major leagues and we need to find out if he can actually play (which I think he can).
  4. Good insight, always nice to read articles like this.
  5. hmmmm maybe consider it, but Twins will NEVER trade Mauer
  6. Especially when Keith Law is one tough cookie to impress. This definitely made me feel good, especially when Keith Law has been saying right now Kyle Gibson is pitching in a hitterS league with inflated hitting stats. So Kyle must be on his GAME!
  7. Here is a little piece from Keith Laws chat on ESPN. I know you had mentioned on Twitter that Kyle Gibson looked good when you saw him out there, what kind of ceiling does he have? Is it 2 or 3, or lower? [h=6]Klaw (1:15 PM) [/h] Based strictly on that one look, he's no worse than a three. I'd like to see him maintain it, but damn, that was an impressive outing

  9. Exactly im sure Butera can be a decent mentor. But his time as a MLB player is over. IMO we should just let him fade away into oblivion.
  10. Yeah whoever the writer of this question is completely abandoning all hope for next year. I agree with you Seth.
  11. Was reading the chat today on ESPN and came across this. Hi David- Because they are rebuilding anyway, do you think the Twins should bring up Arcia and Hicks and let them play? Try to get some pitching for Span. Revere is only a fourth outfielder in my opinion he doesn't walk enough and has "0" power. Thanks! [h=6]David Schoenfield (1:44 PM) [/h] I think both could benefit from at least half a season in Triple-A. Saw both play a couple times at New Britain. Hicks still has some swing-and-miss in his game -- almost TOO patient at times and gets into pitcher's counts. Arcia is young, just doesn't have much time about Class A. But I think trading one of Span or Revere is inevitable, yes.

  15. Deduno is Dedone.....I completely agree with your thoughts. His ERA is starting to sky rocket (todays game sure helped that). I think if he hasnt found it yet, he never will. He was a flash in the pan, it worked for a bit, but we could not expect him to continue his "effectively wild success". To have a guy with a 4.5 ERA be the second best in the rotation is terrible. He is 29, he is not like Hendriks who still has time to figure it out. If we dont do something, its going to be a long year next year once again.
  16. Probably because Gardy gave Blackburn the nickname of Groundy and it just stuck. But seriously, thanks for the input guys.
  17. That is a valid point, but even when Blackburn was at his peak he did not come close to being as effective as Diamond is right now. I believe Diamond can be a valid number three, four at the lowest. The stuff is there, he has posted numbers like this at almost every level he has played at. But if people want to discredit that he can continue the success he is having now, like they did with Revere, so be it.
  18. Here is the a little piece from Keith Laws latest chat. What are your thoughts on Scott Diamond? If Trout wasn't such a showoff, he'd be in the ROY discussion. Can he have long term success as a #3 type starter who induces a lot of ground balls? [h=6]Klaw (1:50 PM) [/h] Fifth starter, if that. I respect Keith Laws opinion on most things, but this one is dead wrong.
