What are you? An octopus? Pineda seems to have gone 5-6 innings most of the year, if he goes out for the 6th and gives up the lead the commentary here is much different and questioning why he wasn't pulled sooner. I think it's a fine line of when to leave a pitcher in and when to pull him. Always easier to dissect the decision after the fact. The bullpen has been much stronger lately weather that's due to weaker opponents or just pitching better I'm not sure. Either way keep it up and go Twins!!

Last night felt like the closest thing to a quality start from a Twins starter in a while. 1 bad inning and 1 bad pitch cost the game. He should've pitched around Abreu in that situation. But if a few more balls drop or or something squeaks through then the story of the game is much different. On the Sano play if all of us are debating that play this much and can't come up with convincing evidence that it should've been reversed there is no way the umps would have overturned it during the game. It was a tough break play that Chicago pulled off defensively. Overall Chicago made enough good plays on defense to win the game. Tough loss in a very winnable game, go get 'em tonight (if the rain holds off)

Schoop is a nice player with some value. Arraez is still a very young player and could hit a slump at some point and having a capable backup is worth having around. I think one of the most impressive things about this team this year is all the depth in the lineup. After going to so many lean years with not much more than speed defensive replacements on the bench it's been so refreshing to see a bench full of guys who could hit in any situation. It's fun to have options.

Hicks had to make the play of his life in order to save that game. He ran faster to make that catch than any other out he's made this year. per espn

Rogers should have started the 9th, Harper should've finished the 8th, or at least gotten 1 or 2 outs.- 51 replies

I can handle the Sano strike outs as long as some hit come along with them. There haven't been too many hits from him lately but that was a key bomba tonight. One of his strkeouts tonight came on 2 low ball pitches that should've been called balls but called strikes instead.- 51 replies

Personally I'm out on MadBum as a top option. I saw one report that the Giants asking price would be pretty high. If that's the case I would rather see the Twins go after a starter with team control next year to have one more rotation piece locked up. If they add another starter I could see using Pineda and Perez in a piggy back role again. Still need another bullpen arm or two after that also.

Pineda pitched a good game today, nice to see him continuing to improve as the season progresses.

The Twins have't blown many saves because they haven't had very many save opportunities due to the large leads that they've built.

Article: Craig Kimbrel and Risk Tolerance
DiscGolfer replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
A lot has been made about trying to find the next Pressly in a trade but what about trying to find the next Taylor Rogers in house. Rogers made an adjustment second half last year and was arguably just as good or better than Pressly in the second half. There could be in house options that won't cost any prospects or more money either if certain players make the right adjustments. Just because they don't have the stats we like right now doesn't mean they can't turn into something special later in the year. This is just another option to be open minded about and I'm not saying to rely on this I still would like to see a a trade made to improve from outside the organization but in house options could emerge. -

People keep talking about Pressly like he was a lights out pitcher before he was traded. He was a good reliever with upside and turned out to be really good with Houston. There could very well be other Pressly types out there that just need to be found. -

So far this season, no other team in the league has hit six or more home runs in one game, the Twins have done it four times. The Dodgers hit 8 in the season opener, and I think 2 other teams have done it also but the Twins have more 6+ homer games than the rest of the league combined.

Article: How Will Sano’s Return Impact the Roster?
DiscGolfer replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Wow, it's going to be a good problem to have trying to find ab's for all the hitters. I don't think I've ever seen a twins lineup this deep before. Adrianza probably gets dfa'd at some point this season but I don't think it will be soon. Players with options will be sent down first.- 116 replies

Second trade with San Fran this year, might be the start of building a trade relationship for a bigger deal for Bumgarner later in the season. -

I could see Sano starting the season on the IL opening the door for Astudillo to make the opening roster. As for depth at 3rd could we see one of our OF prospects do the reverse Cuddyer and move to 3rd. -

Maybe if you see enough guys DFA'd you start thinking "I don't want to be next" so they pitch better.
