  1. And the lesson is if you are Twins reliever never volunteer for mop up duty. You'll get DFA'd the next day
  2. The Brewers DFA'd Chi Chi Gonzalez. He didnt pitch much better in Milwaukee than in Minneapolis.
  3. If Mauer stays healthy/not be traded, he should finish the season 2nd on the all time Twins Games Played list, and also surpass the 1800 Games Played plateau. Also, Mauer should pass Puckett (7831) in Plate Apperances sometime late in the season, it'll be close but Mauer probably wont get to 8000 this season. Mauer will probably get to 1000 strikeouts by the All Star break, Dozier should reach 500 RBI and 600 runs scored this season. If all goes well, Sano (74) should reach 100 HRs this year
  4. Veteran team with a few youngsters sprinkled in. Good pitching and an owner who can buy some bullpen arms ( I always thought Gardy did a good job managing the bullpen, especially the front end/lesser quality arms). My money is on Detroit if Ausmus falters this year.
  5. What happened in 1989? He still got his hits (lead the league with 215), still got his doubles (career high 45) and even hit a few triples but is HR production went from 24 in 1988 to only 9. It took a few years for his HR totals to get back up into the 20s.
  6. Just a quick glace at manager hires, Joe Maddon was hired in on Nov 15 2005, John Gibbons Nov 20 2012, Mike Scoscia Nov 18 1999, Clint Hurdle Nov 14 2010. There are more mid November hires, but the list gets long.
  7. Are people 100% sure Molitor is going to be an old school, bunt/hit-n-run/, etc type manager? This article from January http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/66545260/hall-of-famer-paul-molitor-preparing-for-role-as-twin-coach To me, that says Molitor is willing to learn new things. I know the Twins didnt shift to much, or not as much as they wanted to coming out of Spring Training, this year but I think that comes from the fact the Twins pitcher allowed oodles of hits and that takes away from shifting opportunities. I'm not a smart enough baseball mind to know if that is true or not, but it what makes sense to me.
