  1. I'm guessing he's not too remorseful about the $21 million he cashed in on after his "career year". Ill gotten gains imo, bit of a fraud.
  2. They get the Twins #3 prospect, a hard throwing pitcher no less, and then say they want another top 10 prospect as well? I hope Falvine made sure Bloom heard the laughter before they hung up the phone.
  3. Seems to me this is what trades for prospects look like, they aren't going to dig up a number 1 or 2 starter for that price. Free agency didn't work out for them like they would have liked so we have this, which improves their pitching now, which is desperately needed. Maeda can be an important piece for the Twins for the next couple or 3 years, you worry about replacing a Graterol type in the pipeline later. I like the deal.
  4. Former Gophers Chris Streveler and Drew Wolitarsky celebrating at the Grey Cup parade for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers captured the CFL championship this past Sunday. Strev was hilarious and clearly having a good time, lol.
  5. Nah. Score effects. 28-9, 5 minutes into the 3rd. The 4th Q was a victory lap.
  6. Highest Gopher ranking in my lifetime as well, and would be for anyone under the age of 57. Truly a remarkable run by this team.
  7. Gophers will enter the top 10 with that huge win. ROW THE BOAT!!!
  8. Just a writer throwing out names of guys subject to qualifying offers, but it's interesting to see Odorizzi's name being brought up in Jays land. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/mlb/blue-jays-prioritize-bolstering-rotation-heading-into-gm-meetings/ar-BBWtsg8?ocid=spartandhp
  9. Worse than that, they’re just sitting on strikes right in the middle of the zone, because Twins pitchers haven’t been able to work many other parts of it. Breaking balls are fine but you need to be able to get some over for strikes occasionally and be able to do it in the odd unfavourable count. They have done nothing to disrupt the rhythm of the Yankees hitters, instead relying on them chasing. The pitch execution plays a big part but I just don’t think the plan has been very solid. I’d like to see some data on their fastball and change up usage, frequency and location. I’d guess it’s been pretty pathetic. I haven’t seen any indication that they have any idea how to attack this lineup.
  10. Pitching and plate approach have been a hot mess two games in a row. The Yankees look far more prepared in both areas, it’s been impressive to watch them execute their game plan. The Twins are letting themselves down, do not seem focused at all. Disappointing.
