  1. Optimism leads to disappointment. Disappointment leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Though, we've had plenty of suffering over the last 9 years, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Go Twins!
  2. Everything after this is gravy. This is going to be a special year to remember no matter what happens from here on out.
  3. Just tracking innings pitched in MLB has yet to show increased injury risk in statistical analyses, but it's hard to say if that is because of teams being too cautious or using other indicators of fatigue/injury risk or otherwise. It is generally accepted that increased fatigue* is associated with increased injury risk.** It would be pretty shocking if there wasn't some pitching load associated with increased injury risk, but we have no idea if that's at 150, 250 or 350 innings. * I'm using loose language here as fatigue is considered an important concept in the training literature but is poorly defined. ** Example review: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5394138/
  4. I nearly bought a Lew Ford jersey the year he was an All Star, which seems perfect for this. Now that I'm thinking about it, it would also be pretty funny to wear it to a Long Island Ducks game. Instead, I got a Corey Koskie jersey, which isn't nearly as obscure.
