I just dont get it. Looking at last season hitting was not our problem and you dont need to spend 20+ million for a 3rd baseman that can play defense. Mark my words this will be a colossal mistake. The #1 problem for the Twins now and for about the last 15 years has been pitching. That's it. There is nothing else. If you are going to spend 20+ million on a player you better sign a pitcher. I am not surprised though since they are paying Jake O. 18 million for his average performance last year. Sure the first 3 months was awesome... the next 3 were not by a long shot. In fact they sucked. I said it last year during the homerun hitting spree to every one that would listen. The Twins were not playing October baseball. They need pitching. Period. Pitching wins World Series. Just ask the Yankees who just signed Cole what it takes to win a WS, and they have awesome hitting. Nope. This signing might work out this year... maybe, but after that it will be another albatross around our neck. Right now it all depends on the starting pitching. If they can perform we will have a chance in the post season. Donaldson will probably have an effect on the team but it will be the limiting effect of his payroll, not his WAR. -D
