Happy off day to you all!
Are off days ever happy for us? I guess if they are struggling they are. Our guys are still in first place at 47-38 despite, as Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic and Gleeman and the Geek puts it, "their best efforts to try give it away." Obviously the part of this team that appears to need the most attention is the bullpen. It was no more obvious than this past week with them losing three games in walk-off fashion including yesterday's heartbreaker vs. the White Sox. The good news, if you want to call it that, they appear to be in the worst division in baseball and just when it appears they may lose the division lead, the Guardians and White Sox go ahead and go into a spiral of their own and the Twins are able to expand the lead. They currently sit at 4 1/2 games ahead of Cleveland in the division and 5 1/2 ahead of the White Sox after taking 2 of 3 vs. Chicago.
On this week's Twins Nation Podcast, my cohost Chris and I discuss the bullpen struggles, the upcoming trade deadline, the upcoming schedule and the pending return of Miguel Sano and just what the heck will they do with him when he's eligible to return. Please consider giving it a listen at the link below or on any place you find podcasts.
