  1. I like Rocco as a manager, but sometimes falls into the pattern with the bullpen... I do not necessarily agree with Rocco's bullpen usage decision for game #2, using the same relievers again... Especially if they are unable to pitch in game #3. I don't like the idea using the "best' relievers in same game this early in the season... they are 8 relievers in the bullpen. If the Twins find themselves in lead in the 9th, one of "other" relievers will need close. Why didn't Rocco PH with Garlick for Cave against the lefty-Sutter, especially if Hader may pitch later???
  2. I agree especially NYY and BOS... NYY Gardner is FA, Hicks' injury history, BOS has a goal to be below luxury tax; On MLB.com rumors mentioned BOS salary dumping. Betts, Bradley, Martinez and Price possibly being traded. I would have interested in Price 3yrs/96m remaining. At minimum both teams have both OF and DH needs. Not sure what other pieces would be needed for Price.
  3. MLB pipeline post trades Twin's prospect rankings: Jorge Alcala #11-RHP Gilberto Celestino #14-OF Gabriel Maciel #17-OF Jhoan Duran #22-RHP In the era of HR or K, the 2 OFs don't fit the mode. They are more like Buxton. Is the FO starting a do opposite strategy? Twins lack power in the minors outside Kirilloff and Rooker. I'm ok, Escobar trade he's a rental, but regarding Pressly or potential Gibson trade, they need quality instead quantity. The surplus of prospects does not help much they are not marketable trading pieces They to need sign Esco as FA. Twins rank 24th in HR hit and looks to get worst in 2019 w/o Esco & Dozier.
  4. I would preferred a player closer to MLB ready. The Twins need replace power that will missing in lineup 2019 also lacking quality C's in their system. Kevin Cron | Rank: 22 (Preseason: 20) Team: Reno Aces (AAA) ETA: 2018 Position: 1B Age: 25 DOB: 02/17/1993 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 5" Weight: 245 lb. 5. Personally, I would trade Dozier to the Dodgers for Will Smith (Dodger #9 MLB prospect). The Twins have very little depth at catcher in minors (see Bobby Wilson), and Castro has 1 yr. left on his contract. Will Smith has been touted as an excellent defensive catcher and is hitting well in AA. Garver does not look good behind the plate. The Twins need more options...
  6. Unless a team is willing to break the bank for Scooter Gennett, I don't see the Reds trading him because value he does delivered the last 2 seasons. Much like the situation the Twins had with Dozier 2 offseasons ago
  7. Love the Meltdown; it was my 2nd Meltdown. However, there were too many people at this one and I could not hear everything said, even though I was in the first rows by the stage. I rather pay $20 and have fewer people (300 vs 400). I like the content-interviews, fan questions and games and love being able to talk to you guys (Twins Daily and Aaron) in person.
  8. MLB Trade Rumors has Shaw to the BoSox nearly the same, McGee going to the Cubs for $6 mil less and Tillman going to the Tigers 2x the free agent salary 25. Bryan Shaw – Red Sox. Three years, $21MM. 30. Jake McGee – Cubs. Three years, $18MM. 47. Chris Tillman – Tigers. One year, $10MM. Here are the players linked to the Twins 11. Alex Cobb – Twins. Four years, $48MM. 24. Juan Nicasio – Twins. Three years, $21MM. I think Twins need to get a free agent starting pitcher. They can't rely on the last 3 spots in the rotation with Gibson, Mejia, Hughes. Hopefully 2 or 3 guys in minors is able to have success in the major in 2018. Gonsalves, Romero. Chargois, Reed, Burdi or Jay. Also hope that May, Duffey and Pressly can re-discover their early successes. Idealistically i would have 12 pitchers on the roster and 2 lefties in the rotation for most of the season and 3 lefties in the bullpen. If Molitor and the Alton manage bullpen better than last season they should not need 13 pitchers.
  9. Can someone tell why the 7 yr milb, Recker is on the 40 man roster and not the rule 5, Haley? Just curious... i understand that Haley was due to come off the DL, but Breslow was DFAd
