  1. Byron Buxton hit .224 last season. The only time he hit above .275 was in 2021 when he played in 61 games. The closest he has ever been to MVP was when he came in 16th in 2020. I don't think MVP will be coming to the Buxton residence anytime soon.
  2. Do the Twins have a potential #1 in the system that will help this team in the next 2-3 years? I don't see it. Furthermore its been over 10 years since the Twins developed our own #1. To get something you have to give something. Our middle infield is stacked with Correa, Lewis, and Brooks. I'm 100% confident if all three are still on the team in two years they will excel at different positions to make room for them in the lineup. But IMO, this team is a #1 away from being a true contender. Without a #1 we are a pretender and always will be.
  3. Honestly, between Lewis and Brooks Lee we should trade one of them. We NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED a true #1 ace starting pitcher more than we need BOTH of these two. Especially after resigning Correa. Correa is at SS, Miranda and 3rd, Lewis/Lee at Second, Kiriloff at 1st, Buxton in CF, Gallo, and Larnach at the corners. Trading Lee or Lewis for a controllable ace puts this team with that lineup in contention. Without a true #1 starting pitcher, we will NEVER be a serious WS contender. We will never sign a legit #1. This is the only way to do it for this organization.
  4. To those saying "this is a 90 loss team without Correa..." OF COURSE it is. This was a 84 loss team WITH Correa and Buxton AND after the "big moves" we made at the deadline. This team is so far away from competing which is why I thought signing Buxton was a mistake. They should have absolutely traded him. We did/do not have the pieces to compliment him. None of our pitching prospects look like aces which is important because we will NEVER sign one. Hindsight is always 20/20 and maybe/hopefully I'm wrong. But we should have went full rebuild last offseason. Traded Buxton. Loaded heavy on pitching prospects. We have some good young hitters that will form a solid lineup. Should have traded for some young pitching to pair with them. Here's to hoping Mahle and Paddock come back strong. And I am not saying Buxton is overpaid. His contract is fair. I just believe he should have been traded. To get an ace you have to sign one which the Twins won't do. Or you develop them which they seem to be incapable of doing so then you have to trade for one.
  5. You could have that...OR you could have a sexy young thing completely dressed zip by on ice skates.
  6. Hope Buxton stays healthy. He will have a lot of home runs to rob.
