As we continue to countdown the top Minnesota Twins pitching prospects, we have five pitchers with high ceilings and some question marks. When looking at starting pitchers, you would like to see a consistent third or fourth pitch. There are injuries and rehab. It's not easy to get to the big leagues as a pitcher, but I believe all five of these pitchers can be big leaguers. 

In his three season as Twins manager, Rocco Baldelli is yet to name a closer, and that likely won't change anytime soon. But, we know which relievers get the highest-leverage situations and most of the ninth innings. It's hard to predict which pitchers will fill that role, especially in the future. However, today we consider which Twins minor leaguers mighty be strong candidates. 

Yesterday, we jumped into the top 20 Twins pitching prospects, and today, we look at Twins hitting prospects that I've ranked 16th through 20th. Get to know just a little about five more Twins hitting prospects to watch. 

After a little time away, my top prospects series continues. Today we jump into the top 20 pitching prospects with some interesting names. 

If there was any solace to be found in the Minnesota Twins’ 2021 season it was due to the metamorphosis many of their starting pitching prospects underwent. Louie Varland blossomed from a 2019 15th round pick out of NCAA Division II Concordia University, St. Paul into the franchise’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year; Matt Canterino and Blayne Enlow performed exceptionally when not beset by arm injuries; and many, including Cole Sands and Joe Ryan, outperformed even their rosiest pre-season projections.

But of all the pitching prospects who prospered, it was Josh Winder emerged from his developmental chrysalis first, setting the tone for what was to come early in the season.

Twins pitching prospect Matt Canterino is looking forward to 2022 with a focus on improved health. 

We continue our Twins prospect series today with my choices for the Twins pitching prospects 21 through 25. It is another interesting and unique group, so get to know these pitchers and then discuss them in the comments.

Yesterday, I started a new series, looking at 60 Twins prospects, 30 hitters and 30 pitchers. In Part 1, we looked at the hitters that I rank 26-30. Today, I’ll start reviewing Twins pitchers, starting with my rankings as the Twins #26-30 pitchers. 

As the year ends, I will be sharing my Top Prospect listings but in a different way. I will be splitting hitters and pitchers and ranking the Top 30 of each. Over the next 12 days, we’ll count them down, starting today with the Twins hitting prospects that I rank between 26 and 30. 

The Minnesota Twins once again reached into the barrel that is minor-league free agency on Thursday afternoon, signing former top outfield prospect Derek Fisher to a deal, according to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson. Although he has failed to live up to lofty expectations, Fisher is a potentially good signing who improves the outfield depth within the farm system at worst and could slot in as an occasional fourth outfielder when needed.
