There are probably only a handful of things in sports more terrifying than being a pitcher. I mean, just think about it for a second: Someone else just 60 feet and 6 inches away is trying their hardest to hit the ball you’re throwing as hard as they possibly can in order to ruin your day. As an ex-soccer goalkeeper who put his face on the line for years, I have to respect the level of confidence that pitchers must have.

With their flexible and exceptionally deep pitching staff, and in an expanded playoff format, the Twins are in better shape than ever for 2020—if they play.

In their third full week of action, the Minnesota Twins went 4-2, with four of their six games decided by a final score of ... 4-2.

While the offense is still waiting to click, several key hitters are finding their rhythms, and pitching continues to shine, with one starter building his case for Rookie of the Year and maybe even the Cy Young.

Who stays? Who goes? The Twins have eight (or maybe nine) players from the 2020 team set to hit free agency this offseason, and most of them were major contributors.

With Marwin González and Ehrie Adrianza both free agents, the Minnesota Twins have a massive hole at the utility spot this offseason. There are many names available, but two names make a lot of sense as options for the Twins.

The Twins changed course at the hot corner in a major way earlier this month when they traded away Josh Donaldson and the last two years of his contract, bringing back Gio Urshela from New York in the deal.

Urshela figures to step in as Minnesota's primary third baseman, for now, but he may need to fend off the advances of several players and prospects to stay there.
