With the chance of tying Cleveland for the AL Central first place, the Twins had the lead twice against the White Sox in Chicago, but they ended up giving up both those leads and ended up being walked off in the series opener.

Where is bottom? Just when things seem like they’re at their worst, here comes another kick to the gut. Max Kepler dropped a routine fly ball in the ninth inning of a tie game, putting a painful end on a day the Twins did nothing at the trade deadline.

Thursday was just a bad day for the Twins, no way around it. It started with a record-breaking rain delay, and when they finally got underway things went south in a hurry. To top it all off, the day ended with a hurried flight out to Cleveland.

The Twins gave up the lead five times throughout this game and ended up being walked off in the 10th inning. They fail to complete the sweep and lose their first game against the White Sox of the year.

The White Sox made headline last week after naming 76-year old Tony La Russa as the team’s next acting manager. This decision seems like it was driven by Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the White Sox and the Bulls. La Russa had previously served in the same role before being fired and going on to win the World Series with Oakland and St. Louis. Since his hiring, there has been plenty of controversial information that has come to light.

Late on Monday night, news broke that the Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with free agent right-handed reliever Liam Hendriks. Meanwhile, Twins fans wait for even a good, strong rumor regarding the Twins to present itself.
