There is a silver lining to this gray cloud for the Minnesota Twins and their fans.

At the midway point of the season, the Twins posted a 44-50 record to sit at a .469 winning percentage. Flash-forward to the second half of the year and Minnesota is 15 games under .500 with a .347 winning percentage (entering play on Tuesday). The younger players are working out some of their kinks but the losses continue to pile up.

Thursday afternoon, after the Minnesota Twins defeated the St. Louis Cardinals at Target Field, Twins GM Terry Ryan found himself having some technical difficulties. It seems Ryan’s America Online account had been compromised in some way, leading to rampant speculation.

The Twins best pitching prospect pitched his best game at the highest minor league level with the General Manager in attendance. But was it good enough to earn a call to the big leagues?

The Twins are in hot pursuit of a wild card spot and played another good game Wednesday night in Tampa Bay… in front of the GCL affiliate.

It’s that time of the year where the organization is coming around full circle. What else happened on Wednesday? Well, Ethan Mildren was promoted to Fort Myers and Sam Clay was promoted to Cedar Rapids.
