Minnesota missed out on the Craig Kimbrel sweepstakes, but the Twins will certainly have opportunities to add other impact relievers before July’s trade deadline. The Twins have been able to do more than survive with their current bullpen situation. However, bullpen arms and bullpen usage are critical when it comes to winning games in October.

Here are 10 relievers who Minnesota could target before the trade deadline.

2020 has been a year to remember, for the better and worse. Yet even in these challenging times it’s important to keep in mind the wonderful things that cultivate our gratitude for the Minnesota Twins and the beautiful game of baseball.

It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the 10 year anniversary of the Twins selecting Byron Buxton with the #2 overall pick in the 2012 draft. But, at the same time, considering the journey of Buxton’s career and the crazy times we’ve lived through recently, it also seems like it was forever ago.

Much has changed over the past 10 years. The fact really hits home when you consider that, heading into this decade, Target Field had not yet opened its gates.

On Friday night, the Minnesota Twins lost to the Chicago White Sox. The loss was their 103rd of the season, “besting” their 102-loss season in 1982.

So what do you think? Is this the worst team in Minnesota Twins history?

I mean, if you go by record alone, then the answer became “Yes” on Friday night. There are two games left. They could still lose two more games and end with 105 losses.

From his World Series heroics to jubilant personality, Kirby Puckett is regarded by most as the greatest player to ever don a Twins uniform. 

If there is any baseball player that could do it all, Harmon Killebrew would be that guy. He was an outstanding power hitter, he could play first base, third base and left field. His nicknames “The Killer” and “Hammerin’ Harmon” left little to the imagination as to what he was known for. 

In reading Jim Bowden’s top-50 prospect rankings at the Athletic, one thing really popped out at me. Of the 50 top prospects, 12 of them came from the AL Central. Given the lack of great teams and abundance of high draft picks, I guess it shouldn’t be that surprising, but that gives AL Central teams about a quarter of the top prospects while representing just 1/6th of baseball.
