Virus on Mobile Version?

Yesterday afternoon I jumped onto TD from my phone, and had a message pop up on my Galaxy S4 that I may have a virus (or something). The message didn't really have the appearance of being legit, but it popped up nonetheless. I visited several other sites with no issue, and revisited TD to get the same message. It's a work phone - I don't go to any shady sites on it. Has anyone else had this issue? What gives?

I just got it too. I hit Cancel twice and it isn't there now. But that is strange!

I just tested it on my Nexus 7 and saw the issue. I will look into it tonight.

I just disabled one network's advertisements and it's not appearing after multiple refreshes.

 

Please confirm that the dialogue box is no longer appearing on your mobile devices (and if you're getting desktop pop-ups, that those are ALSO disabled).

 

If that was the cause, one of our ad networks is going to be getting a nasty email in 3... 2... 1...

FYI I'm getting weird stuff again. The whole page goes dim except for the ad in the panel below the Facebook and Twitter connects.

Yep, ditto here, too, on my iPhone 4s, in case that matters, but doubt it.

BTW, this problem isn't caused by an *actual* virus. You are safe to navigate Twins Daily. It's an ad that wants you to believe you are at risk for infection to drive clicks.

 

Still horrible, not actually dangerous. But don't click on the ad.

It seems to be okay this morning. If it happens again, I'll screen shoot it and email you. But what was happening wasn't allowing me to navigate the site at all ... it darkened out/dimmed the site and highlighted the ad so you couldn't do anything but select the ad. And refreshing the screen didn't help ... same thing would happen. However, as I said, seems fine this morning so I'll carry on.
