Twins Call 2:30 Press Conference

The Minnesota Twins have announced that there will be a 2:30 press conference at Target Field "to discuss the 2013 season."

Assumption is that it will be a meeting in which the future of Ron Gardenhire, as well as Rick Anderson and the rest of the coaching staff.

What are your predictions?

I still say that he'll be back, but after being in the clubhouse after the Saturday loss, I'm definitely less certain. I do think that Rick Anderson will be let go, maybe Scott Ullger too. I guess we'll find out, and be sure to check Twins Daily this afternoon for more information.

I would imagine if it's a discussion of Gardy's fate, he'd have to be fired today, wouldn't he? (Well, ok, he's a FA but same thing). If they were going to keep him, they'd go through GM/manager meetings first before resigning him, I would think. I they don't do that until after the season.

I think he should come back, for whatever that's worth.

I don't blame Gardy for the wretched team he's been given, but I think a new atmosphere is needed in the clubhouse. That being said I agree with Seth, Gardy stays, Anderson goes. Since both aren't staying or both aren't going, that is the reason no in-season announcement was made.

After all, didn't we all kind of think Anderson's lame duck status and Cuellar's promotion last year wasn't a coincedence? The bullpen was very good, the rotation was a mess, Cuellar's certainly going to be the pitching coach next year isn't he?

I don't imagine they'd call a press conference just to announce they were going to stay the course.

Well neither are under contract currently, so I'd imagine they'd have a press conference to announce a new contract. Actually a press conference to confirm a non-signing seems less likely to me, though I'd expect the team to hold one regardless considering the stature of the men in question.

Everyone staying, no reason to change what has been working so well. There will be hope of contending in a couple years. Free agents don't work we'll hear, stay the course. Not going to spend money just to spend money they'll say.

Never a mention of trying to build a world series type team will be made.

I've been a fan since 1961 and I must say this is the lowest I've ever been about this club.
