Article: Twins Minor League Report (8/10): Berrios Dazzles

Buxton continues to roll along nicely. The things he's doing as a 19 Yr. old in advanced A are awfully impressive. No, he's not Mike Trout, and know that that talk as died down some. Hopefully the pressure is off him a bit more and he can continue staying focused and do the neccessery things to keep improving.

From the sounds of it, a GREAT kid and very humble.

I like that a LOT in a potential superstar prospect.

Even though Buxton and Trout have a similar career trajectory so far, Trout was a year younger when he was drafted, which just shows how impressive he is. Buxton hasn't done anything to lose his his number one prospect status. He's one of the 3 youngest players in the Florida State League, and he has an OPS around .800. Just because he isn't dominating the Florida State League like the Midwest League doesn't mean it's time to jump off the wagon. Considering it's his first year of full season ball, his results are still incredible.

Agreed, Buxton and Sano have been great. Looking forward to them being in MN some day. We better not hear how they didn't sign any FA pitching because they didn't want to block Meyer (hurt) and May (looking like the guy KLAW said would be a reliever because of his control issues). I think Meyer has a chance to be good, but he's hurt, and they should probably not count on him. May, clearly, has a lot of work to do yet. A Lot.

There is something I really like about Berrios. The video of him reacting to getting drafted, to his dominance last year, to his Spring Training reports (remember those). He came down to earth this year, yet I would be bummed is he didn't make the big club in 3-4 years. Anything else on the guy?
