Astros: SP Brad Peacock

LF Grossman

2B Altuve

C Castro

1B Wallace

DH Carter

RF Krauss

3B Dominquez

CF Barnes

SS Villar

Twins: SP Mike Pelfrey

2B Dozier

RF Herrmann

DH Mauer

1B Morneau

C Doumit

LF Arcia

CF Thomas

3B Carroll

SS Bernier

Things to think about:

1. Think about the Astros... They have played some bad baseball these past two games... We may think things are bad in Minnesota but things are much worse west of Galveston.

2. Think about Bernier... In the lineup at SS again... It seems like Gardy might like this guy.

3. Think about Colabello... I think about him a lot... He has tons of power but he isn't making enough contact. At his age... he has a short window to prove himself... If you have a short window... It stands to reason that you may press and try to do too much. He has no time to adjust to MLB Pitching... He has to do it right now and he isn't in the lineup.

4. Think about Pelfrey... I think today is a test... Here's the Test... If he is throwing well... The Astros will prove to be no problem... If the Astros provide a problem for Pelfrey... He still has work to do. Let's see what happens.

5. Think about Brevity... I struggle with Brevity... I go on and on... I always have... Mainly... I am confused by Brevity... For example... Shouldn't Monosyllabic be a much shorter word and for that matter... Shouldn't Abbreviate be much shorter as well.

Posted this on yesterday's GDT, but not til late this morning, so here it is again"

Being one of the few, if not the only not gushing over Gibson being ready, I'm not surprised at all by his outing. However, he is getting ML experience which was going to happen sooner or later. He's a smart young man, maybe to smart for his own good, and hopefully won't over think this whole experience. Slowey? He needs to just pitch and not think, and not announce his object is a 1st pitch strike. They'll be ready to swing, like yesterday.

The thing that impressed me in this game was the play of Dozier. It's like he's said to the rest, jump on my back, this train is moving forward. Dozier worked hard in the off season to improve his defense and came right out of the shoot showing that it really helped. He's had a great year on defense! His confidence on that side has just leveled off into just an everyday occurance. But, it's allowed and carried over to his offense. He seems much more confident in the box now and the results are showing. Dozier is surely one of the most positives of this dismal season. It looks as if he's really turned a corner, and I am impressed and thrilled!

Meanwhile, Morneau is close to a multi homer game.

The girl lost to Brazil today. Not unexpected given it was on their home turf. It was frustrating though, because they put themselves in a position to upset, but didn't seal the deal. Now its off to Belgrade Serbia for pool 2.
