The Twins are hard-up for a bag of game-used balls, it seems. At least they get to shed some of the outrageous salary they are paying him this year for three major league at-bats. Rumor has it that Nick Punto is the PTBNL. Seriously, surprised the Dodgers didn't pick up Carroll, too.

A victorious day after all.

Except, ironically, TD's traffic numbers. On 'Butera called up'/'Butera sent down'/'Player X claimed because Twins are wasting a 40 spot on Butera' days he generated a big chunk of the site hits, or seemed to at least. But the mods probably won't miss patrolling those pillow fights any more.

Still early, but any word yet on whether Gardy will miss any games to undergo PTSD or grief counseling?

So will Butera be the only member of the 2013 Twins to make the playoffs this year?

I'll bet his game calling will get that Kershaw guy some Cy Young votes.

I heard that piece of **** Nishioka's team is about to make the playoffs in Japan.

Not when Kershaw is the PTBNL. Just holding off until they can find a place in our rotation for him.

Must be nice to going to an organization that understands and values defense at catcher. Good luck Drew. Our pitchers will miss you.

Were you under the impression the Twins were retaining him for his bat? NL teams and fans are used to watching pitchers bat, so Butera will be a better fit there.

Not to mention their current backup catcher currently has a Butera-esque OPS of .590. I guess it's fair to say that if baseball was only played with catchers, the Twins would be better than the Dodgers.
