Hopefully the Twins can get both of these games. Miami has one of the worst lineups in the league so our pitching should look good for two games.

hopefully we can get this set and make good use of the series with the Royals before going against the Yankees (it's July 1st right?)

Actually, their bats are a lot better lately. They are OPSing @ .671 in June compared to a .618 OPS for the entire season. Giancarlo Stanton and Logan Morrison are back from injury and Justin Ruggiano is on fire in June with a .903 OPS. They just took 3 of 4 from the Giants on the road and Ruggiano was a key component.

Speaking of someone on fire, Jose Fernandez is a beast at age 20. He's only had one bad start in 10 games since his mediocre start against the Twins. He's knocked 1.50 runs off his ERA since then.

Mike Redmond has actually done a pretty decent job so far with this kiddie-corps. In their last 21 games, the Marlins are 12-9. And now as a "thank you" to Mike, Jeffrey Loria is actively trying to get rid of his last high dollar salary from the starting rotation, Ricky Nolasco- that will reduce the entire Marlins active player payroll close to what Joe Mauer makes alone.

Tonight's game looks like the tougher of the 2 to take from the Marlins.

It never seems to work that way though.

I'm actually excited to watch Fernandez throw. I hope it doesn't turn out well but the kid has a live arm and was fun to watch when I saw him earlier in the year.

I'm going to get about an hour in before I got to leave.

BTW... Ashbury is celebrating his 30th Wedding Anniversary tonight... I know that 30 years with the same woman sounds incredibly crazy to most of us (23 years for me... So I can say that)... However... I think he actually likes his wife so good for him.

Ashbury has to go do some stuff because of the celebration and won't be game threading.

Can someone step up and be extra funny in his place?

BTW... If any of you are thinking of sending a gift to Ashbury... The 30th Anniversary is the Pearl Anniversary.

So I'm sending him an 89 year old lady named Pearl that lives down the block from me.

She will bake some Banana Bread... Hang some Doilies over his chairs in the house and leave.

Ok... I have an hour to watch the game before I have to leave and my wife has the TV and she is watching the food network...

Do I...

A. Recognize her right to the TV and respect her TV Choice and watch it with her.

B. Stand up and declare... I'm the man of the house and we are watching the Twins.

C. Go to a smaller TV.

Strategic retreat is always the wisest course....

I'd personally go with B and C at the same time while shuffling out of the room

After 23 years you should know the answer to this question.

Not worth fighting about it and she would win anyway. Go to a smaller tv.

Does she perchance keep a frying pan handy in the couch cushions?

I don't fear her frying pan... It makes a Doink Sound... You rub your head and go on with life.

I fear... Her letting me know... How wrong I am. For an hour or week.

That one is easy -- C is the correct choice unless you crave suffering.

Architect: So, Interior Design Guy...my vision for this stadium turned out, uh, uninspiring.

Interior Design Guy: Yeah. Not your best work, unless you were going for "garish," or "godawful," perhaps.

Architect: Yeah...no. So I was wondering...maybe you could help when you coordinate the interior.

Interior Design Guy: Not to worry, friend. With the color scheme I have in mind, nobody will notice the design. Trust me on this.
